Customer Operations drives superior experiences for our consumers by ensuring product availability on line and on shelf and superior customer experiences through being the no. 1 supplier. The department links the supply and demand sides of the organization through digital platforms and ensures accurate forecasts, optimized inventory, superior customer service, reduced logistics costs and efficient order to cash processes.
JOB PURPOSE
We are looking for a Logistics Engineering Manager that will be responsible for driving and governing the Global Logistics Engineering Programme with a key focus on Warehouse Robotics and Automation (R&A). The role is the subject matter expert (SME) for warehousing globally. The role is also accountable for developing and maintaining Warehouse Standards and leading the SHEQ agenda for global warehousing.
WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE
+ Lead WH R&A program globally
+ Market engagement, project pipeline, solution reviews, business case approvals and delivery.
+ Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to fast track and step up WH R&A agenda for Unilever.
+ Overall R&A program management
+ Drive/Enable WH R&A crosspollination and learning via WH R&A COP.
+ Act as the global SME for Distribution Center (DC) & Fulfilment Center (FC) design to enable growth, working collaboratively with respective teams including Unilever Region/Market Logistics & Logistics procurement teams as well as external partners (3PLs and Logistics Engineering Consultants) to translate strategy into implementation programs and deliver future fit DC/FC capabilities.
+ Lead and drive Logistics Engineering programs for DCs/FCs with stakeholders across the organization in order to achieve improved business KPI's
+ DC/ FC Benchmarking and Standards
+ DC/FC Layout Design and Optimization
+ DC/FC Process improvements in material handling, storage, picking and un/loading efficiencies.
+ Leveraging innovation such as robotics, digital and automation
+ Embedding the well-being and safety of our people and planet into DC/FC designs
+ Maintain strong links to external trends and intelligence ensuring best practice and knowledge is imported into Unilever.
+ Development of global standards and ability to translate them into regional and local requirements, without compromising the core global principles.
+ Governance for investment strategy, design standards and project management discipline to ensure the success of projects throughout the entire project life cycle, from feasibility, conceptual, FEED, detail design and implementation, working hand in hand with the regions/markets.
+ Ensure assets are designed to comply with Unilever's safety, quality and sustainability standards.
+ Develop Logistics engineering capability in Unilever through a Community of Practice (CoP) that promotes learning and best practice sharing culture.
+ Act as the global SME and Lead for Warehouse Space & Capacity planning
+ Develop warehouse capacity and space planning guidelines aligned to Warehouse Investment strategies.
+ Build standardized tools and techniques for warehouse capacity and space planning to ensure optimized storage design solutions for warehouses.
+ Govern the warehouse capacity and space planning process globally by ensuring proper due diligence is done before space commitments are made.
+ Develop a continuous space optimization program to find opportunities of space optimization across warehouses.
+ Collect new space optimization best practices internally and externally to enrich the capacity and space planning tools and techniques.
+ Build tools and techniques to visualize space hotspots and drive action planning in collaboration with broader supply chain teams.
+ Enable crosspollination of space optimization best practices across markets by leading the space planning discussions in the Warehouse Community of Practice
+ Support market logistics teams for identifying and implementing space optimization opportunities.
+ Act as the Global SME for warehouse design, continuous improvement and operations.
+ Act as the global SME and develop, maintain and govern Warehouse Standards
+ Act as the global SME and lead the SHEQ and Sustainability Programme for Warehousing
+ Support WH WMS deployment and ensure robust performance monitoring dashboards for key metrics are maintained.
