Whar role you will play in team

 
You will be playing Tax Advisor role as an individual contributor as part of 4-5 member India Tax team. This role will take care of Indian entities related GST, Income-Tax, transfer pricing matters. 

Job will be based at Bangalore Whitefield EM office for 5 days in a week.

What you will do

  • Tax Advisory (GST, DT, TP) - Support business teams by understanding business requirements and suggest optimal solution considering statutory requirements & industry practice especially for GST related transactions
  • Analyse new investment proposals and suggest potential tax incentives, optimal structure/model
  • Support preparation of submission with tax authorities and ensure timely submission of required details – GST office / Assessing Officer / Transfer Pricing Officer
  • Represent before GST authority/ Assessing Officer / Transfer Pricing Officer and individually handle faceless assessment
  • Support GST, VAT, direct tax, transfer pricing litigations, appeals at various levels including Tribunal and High Court
  • Monitor indirect tax and direct tax regulatory changes and assist to implement required system and process changes as appropriate
  • Support preparation and review annual transfer pricing documentation
  • Suggest process improvements to improve efficiency
  • About you

    Skills and Qualifications

  • Do you have a Chartered Accountant (CA) from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) / ICWA/ CMA / CS / MBA degree
  • Min 3 years of post-qualification GST work experience
  • Strong knowledge of and implementation experience in GST
  • Knowledge of India tax standards and practices, relevant laws and regulations
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft office application such as Excel, PowerPoint
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Preferred Qualifications/ Experience 

  • Experience working in large accounting and auditing professional firms is preferred

    Position Summary: the general role for Tax Advisor is to find tax solutions to complicated tax issues.
    Tax Advisor is responsible for Implements tax strategies, provides advice about taxation legislation and undertakes related accounts administration on behalf of the organizations.

    Key Responsibilities & Authorities
  • Prepare tax provisions schedules, returns, payments, reports and maintain a company’s tax database.
  • Find tax solutions to complicated tax issues or errors from incorrect tax filings.
  • Identify legal tax savings and recommend ways to improve profits.
  • Make sure that clients comply with federal, state and local tax regulations.

  • Tax budget optimization (based on possible returns in various jurisdictions).
  • Internal tax compliance (assurance the company or its subsidiaries do not have tax liabilities; esp. permanent establishment related).
  • Review /Approval of incoming contracts with respect to Tax Cost & PC Entity to which the contract will be awarded.
  • Skills/Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in fields like accounting or finance.
  • At least min 3 years of professional experience in the preparation of tax returns and must register with the IRS as tax return preparers.
  • The candidate must be able to speak and communicate effectively with the clients and others and effectively use reasoning and logic to create strategic approaches to questions.
  • Fluency in English is a must.

    An exciting opportunity has become available in the Center of Excellence (COE) for Indirect tax compliance and reporting. The role offers the suitable candidate the opportunity to manage and develop a COE within a multinational environment across several regional territories i.e. APAC, EMEA and LATAM, working together with our Co-Sourcing partner.     + Managing the COE and Co-Sourcing relationship on a daily basis

The role offers the suitable candidate the opportunity to manage and develop a COE within a multinational environment across several regional territories i.e. APAC, EMEA and LATAM, working together with our Co-Sourcing partner. In particular, the role will involve the following responsibilities:

  • Managing the COE and Co-Sourcing relationship on a daily basis
  • Leading on transitions of reporting processes to a centralized model
  • Managing and supervising reporting for assigned territories:Performing quality controls, and approving timely VAT paymentsEnsuring internal and statutory deadlines are metIdentifying, mitigating, and resolving any opportunities, risks and errorsMaintaining the integrity and accuracy of VAT reporting dataWorking closely with advisors on the end-to-end reporting process
  • Optimizing VAT/GST working capital (e.g., refunds, bad debts etc.)
  • Supporting and managing indirect tax external audits and controversies
  • Developing guidelines and training programs for the business
  • Supporting restructuring projects from a compliance perspective
  • Supporting on functional requirements for ERP and boundary systems
  • Assisting in implementation of e-invoicing and digital reporting initiatives
  • Driving improvements and efficiencies in processes and reporting
  • Critical to success:

  • Proven track record of managing indirect tax compliance in multiple territories.
  • A critical thinker who can challenge processes, quickly flag risks, and offer up mitigation strategies
  • Ability to interact with senior internal stakeholders, auditors, and advisors
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail within a rapidly changing environment

  • Accounting and tax qualifications

  • Experience of working in an international organisation supporting cross-functional teams and multiple businesses.

    **Key Responsibilities:**
    **Compliance & Reporting:**
    + Manage end-to-end **transactional tax compliance** for jurisdictions across **India** , **SEA, MEA** , **ANZ, Canada** and other assigned regions (including VAT, GST, excise, customs duties).
    + Ensure accurate and timely filing of indirect tax returns in accordance with local regulations.
    + Prepare and review **monthly/quarterly reconciliations** of indirect tax accounts.
    + Monitor changes in indirect tax laws and assess their impact on business operations.
    + Manage **e-invoicing** and **e-way bill** processes in India and relevant digital compliance requirements in other regions.
    **Advisory & Business Support:**
    + Provide **indirect tax advice** to business teams on transactions, contracts, and supply chain flows.
    + Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., finance, legal, logistics, procurement) to address tax issues and optimize structures.
    + Support tax planning initiatives and **evaluate cross-border transactions** for VAT/GST efficiency.
    **Audit & Risk Management:**
    + Lead or assist with **tax audits, assessments, and queries** from authorities.
    + Coordinate with external consultants, legal advisors, and government bodies as needed.
    + Maintain robust documentation and tax registers for audit deadlines and internal controls.
    **System & Process Improvement:**
    + Work closely with IT and ERP teams (e.g., **SAP, iScala,** **Oracle** ) to ensure correct indirect tax configurations.
    + Contribute to **automation and process improvement** initiatives in indirect tax compliance and reporting.
    + Ensure compliance with **global tax policies** and internal control frameworks (e.g., SOX, SAF-T).
    + Previous involvement in **indirect tax automation or transformation projects** .
    **Qualifications:**
    + Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Tax, or related field.
