PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

Design & Develop Electronics as per the requirement of HVAC product.

Education: B.E/B.Tech/M.E/M.Tech - Electronics/ Electrical/Instrumentation

Responsibilities:

• To Design & Develop Electronics for HVAC Ensuring its DFM, Reliability, Cost Targets & On-time Delivery.
• Perform EMI-EMC & Environmental test to prove reliability of designs.
• Prepare Schematic, BOM, Design Calculations & Test Reports.
• Prepare Quality Documents like DFMEA, MTBF, Derating
• Provide Support for developing Setups for ICT & FCT
• Directly own and contributes to solving Field issues.

Technical Expertise:

• Minimum 5 years of hands on experience in designing AC to DC, DC-DC Power Supply & Microcontroller based electronics Circuits.
• Knowledge of New Product Development Process of Electronic product.
• Hands On Experience in using Altium Designer.
• Knowledge of Quality documents like DFMEA, MTBF & Derating.
• Hands On Experience of Electronics Circuit Simulation tools.

• Master of Science in Electrical, Electronic, Compute, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent program
• 3 to 6 years of experience in an architectural hardware/system role

Role Description

As our Hardware & Electronics Engineer, you will lead end‑to‑end design and development of the core electronics for Mercle’s biometric scanner. You’ll translate system requirements into robust PCB designs, select and integrate sensors and power components, and collaborate closely with mechanical, firmware, and CV engineers to deliver a production‑ready prototype.

Key Responsibilities

• Electronic System Architecture Define block‑level schematics covering power distribution, sensor interfaces (RGB & depth cameras), lighting control, and communications (USB, Ethernet, Wi‑Fi).
• Collaborate on system‑level trade‑offs: cost, size, thermal budget, and EMI/EMC compliance.
• PCB Design & Layout Create multi‑layer PCB designs using Altium or KiCad, ensuring signal integrity for high‑speed camera interfaces and power rails.
• Route differential pairs (e.g., MIPI CSI), manage ground planes, and implement design‑for‑manufacturability (DFM) best practices.
• Component Selection & Procurement Choose sensors, power regulators, connectors, and other BOM items based on performance, availability, and cost targets.
• Work with vendors to source components, evaluate samples, and mitigate supply‑chain risks.
• Prototype Assembly & Testing Oversee board fabrication, assembly, and bring‑up on development kits (e.g., NVIDIA Jetson Dev Kit).
• Develop test fixtures and harnesses to validate signal integrity, power sequencing, and peripheral communications.
• Cross‑Functional Collaboration Partner with Mechanical Engineers on enclosure interfaces (connector cutouts, thermal paths).

• Support Computer Vision team by ensuring clean camera power and clocking for reliable image capture.
• Regulatory & Documentation Draft and maintain hardware design documentation: schematics, PCB fabrication drawings, assembly manuals, and test procedures.
• Prepare for EMC/EMI testing and safety certifications (CE, FCC), engaging external labs as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
• 3+ years of hands‑on experience designing complex PCBs, including high‑speed interfaces (MIPI, LVDS) and mixed‑signal circuits.
• Proficiency with Altium Designer, KiCad, or similar EDA tools.
• Strong understanding of power electronics: DC‑DC converters, LDOs, power sequencing, and thermal management.
• Experience with camera modules or sensor integration on embedded platforms (Jetson, Raspberry Pi, etc.).
• Familiarity with EMC/EMI principles and design techniques for compliance.

BTL India is looking for an electronics hardware Engineer for a senior role with 6 to 8 years of experience to join our R&D Improvement and Support team, which play a major role in ensuring continued design support to post market releases.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As part of the R&D team, should be able to perform the following duties as assigned by Manager/Leads to support the team’s goals but not limited to the following:

• Understanding of system level, hardware design & requirements of the system/product.
• Lead the investigation of production and field issues/failures

TECHNICAL COMPETENCY:
