Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Hardware Design Engineer with experience in designing embedded systems based on microcontrollers, microprocessors, FPGAs, and RF circuits . The role involves end-to-end hardware development including component selection, power architecture design, schematic creation using EDA tools, multilayer PCB planning, and support for layout and bring-up . The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience with high-speed interfaces (DDR4, PCIe, Ethernet, USB) , complex multilayer board designs (up to 18 layers) , and a strong understanding of signal integrity and testing methodologies . Proficiency in tools like OrCAD and Cadstar is essential, and familiarity with RF circuit design is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Active and Passive Components selection
• Power scheme finalization and design
• PCB layer stickup finalization
• Schematics design using EDA tools
• Netlist generation and verification
• PCB placement and board size finalization
• Support for the PCB routing and post layout netlist verification
• Board bring-up along with software team once the PCBs are fabricated
• Testing of the hardware for functionality and performance

Qualifications

• B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering or Electrical Engineering with 3+ years of experience in the mentioned areas
• Knowledge of embedded systems hardware design, microprocessors and interfacing
• Experience in design of complex multilayer boards up to 18 layers
• Experience in Interfacing high speed memories like DDR4
• Experience in working on high speed interfaces like Ethernet, PCIe and USB etc.
• Experience in working on RF circuits is added advantage
• Experience in PCB layout and Signal Integrity analysis is added advantage
• Experience in Board bring-up and testing
• Working in OrCAD, Cadstar tools.

Position Objective

The candidate will be responsible for the designing and testing of electronic hardware systems and components. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in circuit design, PCB layout, signal integrity, and familiarity with embedded systems.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Design analog and Digital circuits. Do schematic capture & design Boards.
• Board brings up testing and preparation of design-level documentation.
• Work with cross-functional teams (located in India and USA) to complete system design, Integration, system verification, and validation.
• Component selection and validation for its performance, cost, availability, and manufacturability.
• Preparation of test setups and prototypes and test jigs/fixtures.
• Documentation required for production i.e. BOM, test procedures, Assembly drawings, docs for PCB manufacturing etc.
• Provide support to the existing product portfolio, i.e. find alternative components of the obsolete components.
• Ensure product development for its assembly and manufacturability.
• Ensure design compliance with various safety standards. i.e., as per IEC60079-0, IEC 60079-11, UL, ATEX etc.
• May require domestic travel to visit customer site for technical support activities.

Critical Success Factors

• Should have experience with Battery operated product design.
• Should have experience in Analog and Digital Electronics.

Academic Qualification

• B.E. / B. Tech / M.E./ M. Tech in Electronics.

Experience

• 3 -7 years of experience in hardware design.
• Experience in designing of Battery-operated devices.

Key Attributes

• Experience with ARM microcontroller-based design, power supply design using LDO, DC-DC converter, Analog and Digital circuit design.
• Familiar with the usage of testing equipment, i.e., DMM, Logic analyser, CRO, Spectrum analyser, function generator, etc.
• Experience in working with internal and external teams.
• Familiar with circuit simulation tools.
• Experience in wireless-based product design, i.e., Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, etc.
• Should be familiar with various communication protocols, i.e., UART, I2C, SPI, MIPI, one wire, RS232, RS485, etc.
• Experience in the preparation of design-level documentation and production-level documentation.
• Experience in Schematic capture, PCB layout design using Altium or any other EDA tools.
• Experience in battery-operated product design, Battery chargers – preferred.

Should be part of component selection and validation.
