Role Description
The Hardware Design Engineer will be responsible for:
- Developing hardware from scratch – starting with system block design, hardware architecture, and end-to-end development.
- Designing schematics and circuits for digital, analog, mixed-signal, and power domains.
- Schematics bring-up and board bring-up, ensuring successful hardware initialization and validation.
- Participating in Optimizing RF design – including antenna tuning, impedance matching, and layout improvements for robust wireless performance.
- Testing and debugging hardware, identifying root causes of issues, and implementing corrective actions.
- Learning to troubleshoot hardware faults and gaining exposure to problem-solving for real-world hardware challenges.
- Supporting compliance testing activities (AIS-140, Automotive, EMI/EMC, safety, etc.) and helping to address non-compliance issues.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams (firmware, mechanical, QA, and production) for seamless integration and product readiness.
- Preparing basic hardware documentation and assisting in design reviews and DFMEA exercises.
- Supporting design validation, certification, and production ramp-up, ensuring designs are ready for large-scale manufacturing.
Basic Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Currently pursuing or recently completed B-Tech/M-Tech in Electronics Engineering or a related field.
- Technical Knowledge: Solid foundation in basic electronics and a good understanding of different communication protocols (e.g., CAN, RS-232, RS-485, Ethernet, I²C, SPI, UART).
- Design Tools Familiarity: Exposure to PCB design tools such as Altium, OrCAD, KiCAD, or Eagle
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to approach hardware issues methodically, with eagerness to learn troubleshooting techniques.
- Testing Equipment Exposure: Familiarity with testing equipment such as Oscilloscopes, Spectrum Analyzers, and Signal Generators.
- Team Collaboration: Good communication and teamwork skills, with willingness to learn from and work alongside cross-functional teams.
Performance-based conversion to a full-time Hardware Design Engineer role may be considered at the end of the internship.
