Purpose
Collaborate with a wide range of national and international sources to gather and review regulatory aspects to assist senior management in developing strategic initiatives with equity partners and stakeholders. Assist in evaluating and implementing regulatory frameworks to allow unconstrained route expansion and improve market positioning in India.
Accountabilities
- Support in developing official communications for a wide range of governmental, international, and Civil Aviation authorities such as Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA), Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Bureau of Immigration, and Airport Authority of India (AAI) to ensure high-quality support is provided to senior management and internal departments.
- Attend meetings with national and international regulatory bodies to provide expertise by supporting senior management in executing operational and preparatory activities.
- Collaborate with Network Management by accurately collecting requirements on new route openings to ensure they are properly identified, tracked, and managed during consultations with DGCA, AAI, and MoCA.
- Collect, review, and consolidate data from internal and external sources to support in developing reports and analysis to achieve departmental strategic objectives.
- Support in monitoring relevant governmental and international legislation changes to timely identify and highlight impacts on strategy.
- Prepare for and support regulatory audits or inspections conducted by DGCA, BCAS etc., ensuring corrective actions and compliance measures are implemented.
- Liaise with DGCA, MoCA, Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS), and other relevant authorities to facilitate approvals for traffic rights, slots, and easing of operational constraints.
- Act as a key support to all relevant departments, as required, on matters related to Etihad India operations.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in political science, Public Administration, International Relations, Aviation Management, or Law.
- Master’s degree (MBA/MPP/LLM or related field) will be an advantage.
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in government affairs, regulatory affairs, aviation industry, or public policy.
- Proven experience in liaising with Indian regulatory authorities such as MoCA, DGCA, AAI, and BCAS.
- Prior exposure to aviation, transport, or infrastructure sectors preferred.
- Strong background in policy analysis, stakeholder engagement, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience in coordinating with Embassies, High Commissions, and international stakeholders will be an added advantage

- Flair for public affairs/advocacy/ geo-politics and proven commercial mindset which shapes the external environment to ethically drive business strategy and growth.
- Deep understanding of the systems and healthcare/pharmaceuticals policy development process of the Government across the Central and State levels.
- Proven ability to master complex regulatory and policy issues, and to translate them into clear and concise messaging of direct relevance to the business (R&D, Regulatory etc.).
- Experience working in a global organization or within a matrixed structure.
- A real team player with the ability to interact and collaborate well with people from all business teams and oversee projects from start to finish.
- Effective project management skills , including the ability to prioritize and make appropriate trade off decisions.
