The role of an Aboriginal Health Practitioner at Wurli encompasses delivering safe, high-quality clinical services, patient care, health promotion and education as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Clinical service may include, but are not limited to:-
- Health Screening
- Providing treatment in accordance with CARPA protocols
- Assist clients to make informed decision about their health management
- Contribute to patient care plans
- Administering Immunisations
- Eye Health Care

The positions available incorporate the opportunity to work in a range of clinical environments and develop skills and knowledge in specialised areas of primary health care service. Our Aboriginal Health Practitioners use the Communicare patient information system to identify care needs and document patient consultation in patient’s medical file and bring to the organisation a high level of cultural authority which assists Doctors and other health professionals with communication, treatment and any advice relevant to a client’s treatment.
Key features of the role:-
- The positions available are primarily clinical roles (requiring a Certificate IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care and a current AHPRA registration)
- Requires some travel to local communities to assist educate, prevent and facilitate care
- Integral member of multidisciplinary team

Summary of terms and conditions of employment:-
- An ordinary working week of 37.5 hours; Monday to Friday

Second, you will be able to build your schedule. We will give you flexibility around hours and days you’d like to offer appointments (between Monday to Friday), with some limited out-of-hours availability required from time to time.

headspace Townsville offers a number of evidence based mental health and wellbeing treatments that range from low intensity brief interventions through to high intensity long-term interventions. These include:

About the Role:
The Allied Health Manager provides operational leadership and oversees the daily operations of the Acacia Allied Health team for the Acacia (adult) and Banksia (older persons) mental health inpatient units at North Canberra Hospital. The position provides management in line with service objectives, established procedures and sound governance processes.
The Allied Health Manager manages human resources, finances, reporting, and quality and safety compliance. The Allied Health Manager is required to undertake professional development and supervision, participate in quality initiatives and contribute to the multidisciplinary team processes.
The Allied Health Manager will collaborate with the multidisciplinary allied health staff, psychiatry and nursing staff to continually improve the quality of the recovery focused therapeutic programs.
