Salary: $100,650 – $114,448 (Plus 12% Super) 
Location: The Canberra Hospital, Garran

About the Role:

The Division of Women, Youth & Children (WYC) provides a broad range of primary, secondary, and tertiary health services. The division has a strong focus on clinical governance to ensure quality of services this is underpinned by our partnerships with our consumers and other service providers. We are a child and family centered, multidisciplinary team that delivers care in CHS, Community Health Centre’s, client’s homes, schools and Child and Family Centre’s.

The position provides management and leadership to Women Youth and Children Administration staff located at Centenary Hospital for Women and Children, as well as WY&C Community Based services. The role involves providing support to the leadership team of the WYC Community Health Program and managing staff who are performing front line services duties including booking appointments, referral management, screening telephone calls, and clinic support. The role requires a high level of time management skills with an ability to liaise effectively with staff at all levels. A high level of knowledge and demonstrated ability in the use of health-based IT systems including EPIC is required. Demonstrated ability in problem solving as well as small involvement in project management and quality and improvement is highly desirable.

This role ensures high quality customer service standards are maintained and provides support and assistance to the Women, Youth and Children’s Management team as necessary.

This hybrid role involves developing and executing outreach strategies to engage diverse community groups, build partnerships with local organizations, and promote program participation. You will be responsible for planning and coordinating community events, managing communication channels, and gathering feedback to improve program effectiveness. The ideal candidate is a natural communicator, adept at building relationships, and committed to improving community health outcomes. This role offers a blend of remote planning and in-person community engagement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement comprehensive outreach plans to engage target communities in health and wellness programs.
  • Identify and cultivate partnerships with local community leaders, organizations, schools, and businesses.
  • Organize and coordinate community events, workshops, health fairs, and informational sessions.
  • Create and distribute promotional materials, including flyers, social media content, and newsletters.
  • Manage program inquiries and provide information about services and activities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with community stakeholders, fostering trust and collaboration.
  • Collect and analyze feedback from participants and the community to inform program improvements.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Social Work, Community Development, Communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in community outreach, program coordination, or a related role, preferably in the health sector.
  • Proven experience in developing and executing successful outreach strategies.
  • Strong understanding of community engagement principles and best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience in event planning and coordination.
  • Proficiency in social media management and basic graphic design tools is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of the local community landscape in Mysuru is an advantage.
This hybrid role requires flexibility, with time spent on remote planning and communication, as well as in-person engagement within the Mysuru, Karnataka, IN community.
