**Job Description**
AECOM India is seeking to hire a Mechanical Design Engineer for our Mumbai Office. The vacancy is for the position in the area of Mechanical Engineering with specialization in HVAC & Refrigeration. Responsibilities, required experience and qualification are summarized below:
**Responsibilities:**
● Expertise in selection of required HVAC systems various applications. Preparation and review of mechanical design calculations like heat load calculations, ventilation calculations, pressure drop calculations for ducting and piping, duct sizing, pipe sizing, etc.
● Preparation of single line design mark-up and review of drawings like P & ID's, general layout, duct layout, piping layout.
● Selection of equipment like pumps, fans, chillers, cooling towers, tanks, cooling towers, etc.
● Preparation and review of design basis reports and tender documents.
● Shall check the work carried out by BIM technicians is according to relevant codes and standards.
● Working knowledge of sustainable engineering practices, CAPEX and OPEX.
● Keep well-informed of latest trends and technologies and implementation of the same
● Participation in the progress and coordination meetings of the project.
● Necessary coordination with vendors and other department for related interfaces as applicable.
● Responsible for compliance with our QA / QC procedures and implementation of procedures.
● Interface directly with clients and other stakeholders.
● Complex design computations with cost and quantity estimates.
● Preparing technical proposals and reports.
**Experience:**
●Experience in MEP design of Infrastructure and Data Centers project with specialization in HVAC and Refrigeration.
● Proficient in heat load calculations, ventilation calculations, equipment selection, high and low side design, BOQ, general layout etc.
● Knowledge of relevant design standards - TIER Standard Topology as per ASHRAE, NBC, ECBC, NFPA, Uptime Institute, TIA 942, BICSI 002, EN 50600 etc.
● Knowledge of related software like HAP, Ansys, IES, Six Sigma, Cradle, Navisworks, REVIT, AutoCAD ● Candidate with design consultancy background will be preferred.
**Qualification:**
B.E./ B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering from a reputed Institute with 5-7 years of experience in HVAC Design.
Candidates with higher qualification will be preferred.

**Brief Description/Job Summary: Application Engineer (Biological Treatment & Aeration Systems)**
GCC Vadodara campus seeks to hire a Mechanical Design Engineer who can contribute to the growth of Xylem's India Technology Center and its expansion into disruptive technology and business solutions. The position involves playing a key role in advancing Xylem water treatment technology capabilities. This position plays a vital role in supporting Xylem's water treatment projects by providing high-quality mechanical design and engineering deliverables. The role focuses on order engineering activities such as design, submittal preparation, and fabrication drawings to ensure accurate, timely, and cost-effective execution of customer projects. **Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:**
+ Execute equipment sizing/selection and detailed design for order engineering projects.
+ Prepare structural/hydraulic designs, general arrangement and layout
+ Review contract specifications/plans.
+ Develop 2D/3D CAD models, submittal and fabrication drawings, and manufacturing deliverables.
+ Prepare and review engineering submittals for client and internal approvals.
+ Provide engineering support across the order cycle, from design through fabrication and delivery.
+ Collaborate closely with cross-functional and regional teams to ensure alignment with project requirements.
+ Independently manage assigned tasks, ensuring quality, accuracy, and timely completion.
**Must Have:**
+ Strong proficiency in Creo/Inventor with parametric modelling.
+ Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
+ Solid understanding of mechanical system design, application, and manufacturing.
**Good to Have:**
+ Knowledge of piping/structural design and GD&T.
+ Knowledge about UV, aeration and wastewater treatment systems
+ Experience with water/wastewater projects and OEM environments.
+ Familiarity with engineering submittals, fabrication processes, and shop drawings.
+ Strong communication and collaboration skills across teams and regions.
**Qualifications:**
+ 4-Year bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
+ 2-6 years of relevant experience in water and wastewater treatment engineering.
+ Exposure to fabrication/manufacturing drawings and submittal processes preferred.
+ Knowledge of various water treatment technologies and technological advancements.

**Job Description**
**Essential Responsibilities:**
Concept and Basic Mechanical design - Packaging of Electrical components
Detail engineering and Validation of design
NPI, Localization and Development of Drives products - Mechanical
Cost out & DMP activities.
**Qualifications / Requirements:**
Bachelors/Master Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/CAD design Preferred)
Mechanical Design with Product Development expertise Min 3 yrs in Electromechanical or LV/MV Drives
Experience and In-depth knowledge in requisition engineering and cost reduction exercise - Localization and VA/VE
Expertize in new conceptualization, layout and equipment design/optimization with required technical specification
Good knowledge in CAD tools (Creo & AutoCAD), Sheet metal design and International standards IEC/UL. & GD&T
Practical experience with Teamcenter/ PLM knowledge is preferable.
Exposure to Manufacturing process & Quality standards
Ensure OTD /FTY of deliverables
Flexible to work with cross-functional teams and global assignments.
Self-starter, Initiator & Solution finder for critical problems with high motivation
Excellent presentation and communication skills
Fluent in English
