Prepares, reviews, approves and maintains files for import/export documents required for the lawful completion of import/export activities. Ensures that commercial and sales invoices are accurate in accordance with physical shipment and customer's SLI, quantities, value of goods, country of origin and other regulatory requirements. Serves as an import/export liaison for international customers/subsidiaries, distribution, procurement, planning, manufacturing, interorganizational finance, regulatory and import/export compliance functions.

SCM – EXPORT-IMPORT(EXIM) ENGINEER
The EXIM Engineer plays a central role in ensuring the smooth operation of global trade activities of a company. This position involves the movement of the goods and shipments across different countries, adhering complex internation trade laws and regulations. Managing relationship with logistics providers, CHA and end customers. By efficiently co-ordinating these elements, the EXIM Engineer facilitates the timely and cost-effective delivery of the products, contributing to the company’s ability to meet the market demands and maintain competitive advantage. Their expertise is navigating the intricacies of international trade agreements, tariffs, and compliance standard is essential for minimizing risks and optimizing the company’s supply chain operations.
Responsibility
- Candidate should know custom bonded warehouse import procedure and aware about MOOWR, EPCG licence, Advance licence and their guidelines & processes
- Maintain accurate data of inward and outward movement of custom bonded warehouse
- Ensure timely filing of returns and reports (monthly basis) as per MOOWR requirements and with that keep and share updated records of procured material (import & local both under MOOWR warehouse), consumption data, wastage data and duty deferment data
- Liaison with custom and handle custom as well as external & Internal audits related to custom bonded warehouse
- Involve to close custom licence
- Oversee the Preparation and processing of import and export documentation according to customs regulations, laws, or procedures.
- Implement and manage compliance with international trade laws and regulations, including obtaining necessary licenses and permits.
- Develop and maintain relationships with internal stake holders , consultants for bonded warehouse and external stake holders
- Engage in daily tasks including process improvement, inventory control, controlling and monitoring targets.
Desired Candidate profile
- MBA in Logistics or BCOM or MCOM with certification in warehouse or Import & Export
- Certification. knowledge on custom bonded warehouse management is must.
8-10 Years of experience in warehouse management or EXIM Management
- Knowledge of FTA (FREE TRADE AGREEMENT) across different countries.
- Basic Knowledge of Costing, Taxation, Inco terms, logistics , Import process and custom duty knowledge.
- Very good and hands on experience of Microsoft Excel is must
- Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics ERP system will be added advantage.

1. Import & Export Operations
• Manage end-to-end import/export activities across multiple ports, ensuring regulatory compliance and duty payments.
• Manage shipments, including containers, ISO tanks, and bonded warehousing.
• Ensure accurate trade documentation for seamless customs clearance.
• Handle drop shipments and international trade transactions using customs platforms.
• Collaborate with global counterparts, COE, finance, supply chain, and tax teams.
• Manage trade certifications and compliance programs for future-readiness.
2. Customs & Compliance Management
• Work with customs handling agents to ensure smooth clearance and accurate tariff classification.
• Monitor and enforce compliance with customs laws, tariff regulations, and global trade standards.

3. Cost Efficiency & Vendor Management
• Manage trade-related expenses by optimizing costs through vendor negotiations and duty structuring.

• Evaluate customs handling agent performance to drive continuous improvement.
• Implement cost-saving initiatives to enhance trade efficiency.
4. Stakeholder Collaboration & Process Optimization
• Align import/export strategies with business objectives, working closely with global and regional teams.
• Partner with finance, tax, and regulatory teams to ensure compliance with duty structures and trade laws.
• Work with transportation, warehousing, and supply chain teams to streamline logistics and reduce transit delays.
• Optimize trade processes using digital platforms for better efficiency and transparency.
5. Leadership & Team Development

Education & Certification
• Bachelor’s degree (MBA preferred).
• Expertise in import/export regulatory programs preferred.
Experience & Skills
• 10+ years of experience in Import & Export operations, preferably in the chemical industry.
• Strong knowledge of customs laws, trade compliance, HSN codes, duty structures, and tax laws.
• Experience in managing CHAs, customs clearance, bonded warehousing, and international trade documentation.
• Proficiency in SAP, ICEGATE, and other customs/trade platforms for real-time tracking and process optimization.
• Expertise in global trade laws, tax structures, and duty optimization strategies.
• Strong leadership skills, with experience in people management and cross-functional stakeholder collaboration.
