Qualifications:

- Master's degree preferred.
- Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) designation is strongly preferred.
- A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in industrial hygiene and EHS management, preferably within manufacturing or heavy industry.
- In-depth knowledge of industrial hygiene principles, exposure assessment methodologies, and control strategies.

About the Role : The primary objective of the role is to develop, recommend and implement programs, policies, guidelines, and procedures associated with the recognition, measurement, evaluation, and control of potential health and safety hazards at the workplace.
Responsibilities :
To coordinate the Industrial / Occupational Hygiene activities at Piramal sites with key focus on:
- Facilitate sites in implementing the Piramal Industrial Hygiene Standards, Guidelines & Initiatives.
- Conduct Qualitative and Quantitative Industrial Hygiene monitoring in terms of air sampling, noise monitoring, illumination monitoring & ergonomics assessment.
- Identification of the Similar Exposure Groups based on the IH Qualitative Risk Assessment.
- Generating, Interpretation & Guide on Industrial Hygiene monitoring technical reports.
- Inspect & suggest recommendations so that all the unit operations are risk-free.
- Training and Awareness on Respiratory PPE’s at all sites.
- Tracking the progress on Industrial Hygiene at all Piramal sites.
- Own and drive IH program at all Piramal sites.
- Preparing fortnightly / Monthly report on the IH.
- Auditing and audit report generation.
- Participate in and reply to customer audit requirements.
- Holding site Industrial Hygiene meetings, engaging workforce on IH.
- Assisting in Audits and incident investigations (related to Chemical/Dust exposure).
- Develop in-house capability in Air sampling (Personal and Workplace) for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients to quantify the workers' exposure level to the harmful chemicals.
- Conduct Gap analysis survey of the process.
- Guide Product Development team on Inherent risk of API (Short Term – Long terms Exposures Effects).
- Conduct Walk through Survey to Identify Workplace’s Stressors (Chemical, Noise, Heat Stress, Vibration, Ergonomics, and Manual Material Handling).
- Develop the Site specific continuous improvement plan & develop IH Manual.
- Active Involvement in Training and Hazard communication program.
- Conduct Site Specific industrial hygiene training need Assessment. Plan, Schedule training Program.
- Guide sites on carrying out Quantitative Ergonomic Risk Assessment (RULA, REBA, NIOSH Lifting Index).
- Willing to travel/relocate to various project sites as per the requirement.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors / Master’s degree in Science / Engineering Specialization.
- 2 years course in Industrial Hygiene - (Masters of Industrial Hygiene & Safety (MIHS) offered by Sardar Patel University, Vallabh Vidya Nagar or equivalent preferably.
- A holder of Certificate of operational competence in occupational hygiene (BOHS) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (ABIH) or equivalent qualifications.
- Degree in Toxicology, Biomedical science, Chemistry or environmental health based subjects.
Required Skills :
- Training in industrial hygiene and experience with workplace monitoring and detection equipment.
- Good written and verbal communication skills with basic computer knowledge.
- Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data.
- Skills in training and capacity building.
- Ability to organize, plan, and coordinate work effectively.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours/days.
Preferred Skills : 5 or more years of all-round experience in Core Industrial Hygiene activities in a repute company is a must.
