  • Identification of the Similar Exposure Groups based on the IH Qualitative Risk Assessment.
  • Generating, Interpretation & Guide on Industrial Hygiene monitoring technical reports.
  • Inspect & suggest recommendations so that all the unit operations are risk-free.
  • Training and Awareness on Respiratory PPE’s at all sites.
  • Tracking the progress on Industrial Hygiene at all Piramal sites.
  • Own and drive IH program at all Piramal sites.
  • Preparing fortnightly / Monthly report on the IH.
  • Auditing and audit report generation.
  • Participate in and reply to customer audit requirements.
  • Holding site Industrial Hygiene meetings, engaging workforce on IH.
  • Assisting in Audits and incident investigations (related to Chemical/Dust exposure).
  • Develop in-house capability in Air sampling (Personal and Workplace) for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients to quantify the workers' exposure level to the harmful chemicals.
  • Conduct Gap analysis survey of the process.
  • Guide Product Development team on Inherent risk of API (Short Term – Long terms Exposures Effects).
  • Conduct Walk through Survey to Identify Workplace’s Stressors (Chemical, Noise, Heat Stress, Vibration, Ergonomics, and Manual Material Handling).
  • Develop the Site specific continuous improvement plan & develop IH Manual.
  • Active Involvement in Training and Hazard communication program.
  • Conduct Site Specific industrial hygiene training need Assessment. Plan, Schedule training Program.
  • Guide sites on carrying out Quantitative Ergonomic Risk Assessment (RULA, REBA, NIOSH Lifting Index).
  • Willing to travel/relocate to various project sites as per the requirement.


Qualifications :


  • Bachelors / Master’s degree in Science / Engineering Specialization.
  • 2 years course in Industrial Hygiene - (Masters of Industrial Hygiene & Safety (MIHS) offered by Sardar Patel University, Vallabh Vidya Nagar or equivalent preferably.
  • A holder of Certificate of operational competence in occupational hygiene (BOHS) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (ABIH) or equivalent qualifications.
  • Degree in Toxicology, Biomedical science, Chemistry or environmental health based subjects.


Required Skills :


  • Training in industrial hygiene and experience with workplace monitoring and detection equipment.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with basic computer knowledge.
  • Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data.
  • Skills in training and capacity building.

  • Conduct thorough hazard assessments, including air sampling, noise monitoring, chemical exposure evaluations, and ergonomic risk analyses.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of existing control measures and recommend improvements or new strategies.
  • Develop and deliver training programs on industrial hygiene principles, hazard recognition, and safe work practices.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable national and local health and safety regulations, standards, and guidelines.
  • Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near misses related to health and safety, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Prepare detailed reports on findings, recommendations, and program performance.
  • Liaise with regulatory agencies, external consultants, and internal stakeholders on industrial hygiene matters.
  • Maintain accurate records of monitoring data, training, and program activities.
  • Stay current with advancements in industrial hygiene, toxicology, and relevant technologies.
  • Lead and mentor junior industrial hygienists and safety personnel.
  • Participate in safety committee meetings and contribute to the overall safety management system.
  • Develop and manage the budget for industrial hygiene initiatives.
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, Occupational Safety and Health, or a related field.
  • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) designation is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in industrial hygiene within diverse industrial or manufacturing settings.
  • Extensive knowledge of hazard identification, risk assessment methodologies, and control strategies (e.g., engineering controls, administrative controls, PPE).
  • Proficiency with industrial hygiene monitoring equipment and data analysis techniques.
  • Strong understanding of relevant legislation, standards, and best practices (e.g., OSHA, NIOSH, ACGIH).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present technical information to various audiences.
  • Proven leadership and project management experience.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a demanding environment.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to different sites within the region.
