5.Core Job Responsibilities
- Under the direction of the Infection Control Officer, assumes responsibility for the instruction of established infection control procedures.
- To be responsible for the implementation of evidence-based prevention and control of infection control programs.
- To be responsible for the optimization of care through Prevention, surveillance, investigation, reporting, liaison, education, and control of infection and communicable disease.
- To support quality improvement and patient safety activities by conducting risk assessment, collecting, analysing, providing infection data and trends, writing standards, policies and procedures
6.Specific Core Skills
- Conducts regular audits on hand hygiene compliance, Biomedical waste management, Care Bundle compliance on CAUTI, ALABSI, & VAP & clinical area audit, disseminates the reports & makes corrective action plan
- Able to do RCA for any malpractice / widely deranged figures found during surveillance & draws out workable solutions for them
- Collects relevant data for infection control indicators & interprets them appropriately based on CDC guidelines on case to case basis.
- Assesses infection control risks in the newly renovated /constructed area, maintains records, recommends practices to avoid them
- Conducts training related to infection control & prevention practices for all health care providers within the organization.
