We deliver our information through a range of formats, from newspapers and magazines to conferences and electronic services. What ties us together is the objectivity of our opinion, the originality of our insight and our advocacy of economic and political freedom around the world.
Signal Noise is a design consultancy and is part of The Economist Group. We reinvent how people experience data, tracing a clear path from data to value. What does an Information Designer do?
Information Designers are responsible for unpacking and visualising complex quantitative data sets to identify key insights and to help people make critical decisions that drive action. Day to day, Information Designers work with our client's analysts or data scientists to explain the macro and micro trends inherent in their data. Once we have a firm grip on the data, they work hand-in-hand with Interaction Designers, UI Designers and developers to craft the experiences that both explain the data and empower people to explore it to satisfy their specific needs.
**Experience, skills and professional attributes**:
As a UI Designer at Signal Noise, you are responsible for the final fit-and-finish of the experiences we create. Your portfolio should demonstrate and articulate a passion for layout, typography, visual hierarchy and motion. Some experience with data-visualisation techniques are a plus, but not a requirement.
Software requirements:
Adobe CC Suite (After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign XD), Sketch, Figma, Principle, etc
