**Your role and responsibilities**
Provide IP-related services and advice to assigned business units, related to patents, copyright and trademarks;
· Handle product-related clearance work;
· Review and approve OSS components (license terms and obligations) to be used in software development;
· Coordinate with external vendors (where necessary) with regards to OSS compliance in software development;
· Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure compliance with open source license obligations;
· Provide training and guidance to development teams on OSS usage best practices;
· Stay current with evolving open source licensing trends and regulatory requirements.
**Required technical and professional expertise**
Bachelor level degree majored in Information Technologies, Communications, Physics, etc.
· Qualification as Lawyer or Patent Attorney in India;
· At least 6 years experiences in IP or legal role;
· Good understanding of all sorts of IP related policies, laws and practices in India;
· Ability to effectively team and collaborate with colleagues in the same field and with people from multiple cultures;
· Excellent communication and documentation skills.
**Preferred technical and professional experience**
- Strong understanding of open source licenses (GPL, MIT, Apache, BSD, etc.)
- Understanding of Open Source Software principles and communities;
- Ability to work independently and cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
