GCC Vadodara/Chennai Campus seeks to hire an application engineer who can contribute to the growth of Xylem's India Technology Center and its expansion into disruptive technology and business solutions. The position involves playing a key role in advancing Xylem water treatment technology capabilities. The Application Engineer will focus on **mechanical equipment and product-based solutions** such as clarifiers, intake screens, dewatering presses, and auxiliary systems, with responsibility for accurate technical design, costing, and proposal preparation. The role also involves **cross-functional collaboration with sales, vendors, and project teams** , serving as a key contributor to project acquisition and execution while building expertise to grow into a senior proposal or SME leadership role.
**Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:**
+ Provide pre- and post-bid application engineering support, including equipment sizing, process design, costing, and proposal preparation for water treatment technologies such as clarifiers, intake screens, dewatering presses, and auxiliary systems.
+ Collaborate with sales teams and channel partners to understand customer requirements and interpret technical specifications.
+ Develop techno-commercial proposals, including scope of work, equipment descriptions, performance guarantees, clarifications, exceptions, and pricing.
+ Prepare and issue RFQs to vendors/OEMs, perform technical and commercial evaluations of offers, and support vendor selection based on cost, compliance, and technical fit.
+ Conduct tender evaluations, review customer specifications and drawings, and identify risks, compliance requirements, and deviations.
+ Compile engineering packages for proposals, including datasheets, drawings, calculations, and supporting documentation.
+ Provide technical clarification and support to internal project teams and product managers on equipment design and system integration.
+ Conduct project risk analyses, compliance reviews, and margin assessments to ensure competitive and reliable solutions.
+ Independently manage engineering deliverables with accountability for planning, scheduling, and timely execution.
