  • Key Responsibilities:

    As an Assistant Engineer/Engineer in the nuclear civils team, the successful candidate would have the following responsibilities:

  • Undertake civils design including wet utilities following relevant design standards and codes, and to high-quality levels.
  • Prepare briefs, scopes of work, and input into bid proposals.
  • Successfully manage time and budget to key project milestones and programmes.
  • Work closely with teams in the lead project offices overseas to deliver integrated design solutions.
  • Adhere to quality assurance standards in design.
  • Follow Health and Safety guidelines strictly.
  • Key Requirements (Necessary):

  • Design engineer with sound problem-solving skills, and a pragmatic, practical mind.
  • Able to work independently to deliver work, as well as part of a team.
  • Take accountability and responsibility for work carried out by the individual or the team.
  • Work well with and form relationships with others, including the client team, other disciplines, and contractors at all levels (junior – senior) inside and outside the business.
  • Be self-motivated to produce high-quality deliverables.
  • Flexible attitude to the type of work undertaken, level of responsibility given, and work location.
  • Have experience coordinating with other disciplines in multi-discipline projects.
  • Produce designs following CDM/appropriate H&S regulations.
  • Working towards becoming Professionally Qualified (CEng, MICE, or equivalent qualification).
  • Strong communication skills, independent working, presenting, and influencing skills.
  • Key Requirements (Desirable):

  • 2 - 7 years’ experience in wet utilities and familiarity with current UK/US/CANADA/ME design standards and working practices.
  • Experience in the use of Bentley SewerGEMS, WaterGEMS, MicroDrainage, Info Drainage, Infoworks, Civil 3D, Navisworks, and other modelling software.
  • Proficiency in designing within appropriate digital analysis packages, following local and national guidance.
  • Digital skills desired but not essential – appetite to learn is key.
  • Hands on experience in QA processes.
  • MS Office (including MS Excel - Visual Basic Script desirable) - proficiency.
  • Information Management platforms (ProjectWise, BIM360, etc.).

    Responsibilities

  • Carry our analysis and design of building structures using software like Etabs and SAFE.
  • Knowledge of Prokon, Ram caoncept, Ram connection, Ideastatica, Revit software will be an advantage.
  • Offer support to junior members of the team.
  • Effectively manage own time which may be necessary if allocated to more than one project.
  • Requirements

  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Experience of 7+ years working in Design office, designing building structures.
  • Experience of working on Middle East building projects will be an advantage.
  • Experience of working on multi-discipline projects.
  • Practical experience of reinforced concrete design and RC detailing of reinforced concrete structures, to American codes.
  • Preferably, experience of structural steel design and detailing of steel structures, to American codes.
  • Have a desire to collaborate within a technically orientated team.
  • Established skill and delivery in the design and analysis of concrete and steel structures, and be familiar with current design standards and working practices.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A flexible attitude to both the type of work undertaken and the level of responsibility given.

    **Job Description**
    AECOM is seeking for a candidate to be based in Bangalore or Gurgaon with the following skill sets
    + Experience with bridge and related structural design schemes.
    + Able to produce detailed design calculations on routine engineering assignments.
    + Proven design and project management experience delivering to quality, time and budget.
    + Experience in road and/or rail projects.
    + High level technical skills design.
    + Able to correlate and interpret the data shared by supporting interdisciplinary teams.
    + Problem solving skills, able to propose alternative solutions for problems encountered.
    + Experience in complete life cycle of a design project within Highway/Railway environment.
    + Previous exposure with international codes such as Eurocodes, AASHTO, AREMA and ACI.
    + Able to work in a diverse team spread across different geographical locations.
    + Able to provide guidance to Entry level Engineers.
    + Able to review calculations undertaken by Entry level Engineers.
    + Strong ability in various software packages ideally including MIDAS, Autodesk Structural Bridge Design, LUSAS with experience in Finite Element Analysis preferred.
    **Qualifications**
    + Master of Engineering degree (or equivalent education) in an appropriate engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.
    + Chartered Engineer (CEng), or Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent in the relevant field from any global organization (e.g., Institution of Civil Engineers, UK).
    + 1 - 3 Years of Experience
    + Should have Midas knowledge and ME experience
    + Good communication skills, and ability to work well independently at times.
    + Able to see the "bigger picture" and take a birds-eye view of projects
    + Confident, with the ability to work either independently or as part of a team.
    + Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure.
    + Accountability for assigned work.
    + Accuracy & precision of work.

    Liaison with design team.
    **What we will be looking for you to demonstrate.**
    Graduate (or postgraduate preferred) in Civil/Environmental Engineering
    Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
    Knowledge of highway drainage design.
    The ability to use Info Drainage and/or Micro Drainage, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D.
    An appreciation of hydraulics, hydrology, geotechnics and building structures is desirable.
    The ability to produce with supervision infrastructure masterplans, design calculations and construction drawings.
    Knowledge of the relevant design codes such as Water UK Sewerage Sector Guidance, Design Manual for Roads & Bridges, or similar international design standards.
    Working towards Chartership or other equivalent professional membership.
