Job Description

The Laboratory Manager position will have the responsibility of managing all laboratory related activities of Cotecna's laboratories falling under Kandla/ Gandhidham/ Gujarat region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all statutory and regulatory requirements are fulfilled for all laboratories in Kandla/ Gandhidham/ Gujarat region.
  • Ensure proper safety of staff and equipment’s.
  • Responsible for overall functioning of the laboratory.
  • Manage inventory of chemicals, consumables, equipment/instruments and record of specifications, standards, SOP, etc.
  • Prepare and maintain SOP as per national & international norms.
  • Ensure accuracy of tests performed and reports issue by the lab.
  • Ensure proper storage and disposal of record samples retained with laboratory.
  • Manage maintenance of documents as per NABL/EIC-ISO 17025 requirements.
  • Responsible for the purchase of lab equipment, chemicals, standards /specifications in consultation with management as per purchase procedure of the company.
  • Maintain purchase record for lab equipment, consumables, etc.
  • Convey new technological development to the management which helps better service delivery in a cost effective manner.
  • Oversee quotation for testing, invoicing, and collection of payment from the client.
  • Retention and storage of record and equipment as per requirement and company's QMS procedure.
  • Ensure all equipments utilized in laboratory are timely calibrated.
  • Perform testing as and when required to ensure the internal crosscheck of test results.
  • Liaise with NABL/EIC for audits and accreditations.
  • Guiding the Laboratory personnel of other regions w.r.t NABl/EIC and other applicable standards.
  • Conduct internal audits and provide technical support to other Cotecna India labs as and when required.
  • Ensure that processes needed for the ISO 17025 QMS are established, implemented and maintained for the laboratories in Delhi region.
  • Train lab personnel in his respective region as and when required.
  • Coordinate with Business Heads on developing testing capabilities of the laboratory as per the needs of the business.
  • Manage CAPEX of the respective laboratory
  • Fulfill business target as decided by management. 
  • Qualifications, Experience and Technical Skills

  • Education qualification- BSc and above
  • Minimum experience 5 year in laboratory management.
