This well-regarded consultancy is going through a growth period – and as part of that process, they’re looking for an Associate Director based in their Western Sydney office in Parramatta.

As one of the key players in Western Sydney, they have work in diverse types of developments and clients (private and government). They provide advice and services in strategic planning, statutory planning, social planning, transport planning, analytics and tech.

About You

As an Associate Director, you will be providing urban planning services – mainly in statutory planning including due diligence assessment, development advisory, planning pathways advice, and planning proposals.

We are interested to speak with candidates who demonstrate strong technical experience with the NSW Planning system (circa 10+ years’) – would suit a Senior/Principal looking to step up or an AD looking for new opportunities.

About the Role:

We are looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Urban Planning professional at the Assistant Manager level to support strategic planning and policy implementation initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background in urban planning, hands-on experience with GIS tools , and a proven track record of working on government policy and regulatory frameworks .

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the drafting, review, and implementation of urban planning policies, rules, and regulations at the State and Central Government levels.
• Conduct project appraisals , feasibility studies, and impact assessments for urban development initiatives.
• Utilize GIS tools for spatial analysis, mapping, and data visualization to inform planning decisions.
• Collaborate with government departments, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure alignment with planning objectives.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and external use.
• Monitor and evaluate the progress of urban planning projects and provide strategic inputs.

Key Requirements:

• Postgraduate degree (Master’s) in Urban Planning from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in urban planning, with demonstrable GIS expertise .
• Experience in policy drafting , regulatory tasks , and project appraisal for State/Central Government initiatives.
• Strong understanding of urban development frameworks, planning norms, and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Preferred Attributes:

• Familiarity with urban planning software and tools (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS).
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

A private planning consultancy in Brisbane is looking for a Planner/DA Planner to join their team in Brisbane.

The company has a wide range of work in 29 Council areas covering SE and North Queensland to Northern NSW. Hence, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects including:

Planned Resources are partnering with a national planning and design consultancy currently looking for a Principal/Associate Director to lead and develop their Urban Planning team.

The studio is going through a growth period – working alongside Landscape Architects and Urban Designers, the Planning team projects and clients are quite broad – but more skewed towards private clients. They have work in a range of sectors including commercial, mixed use, master planning and renewables.

This role will be a mix of technical delivery (50%) with business development component (30%) plus people management (20%).

We are keen to speak with candidates with extensive experience with NSW Planning system (10+ years’) – either from consulting or government background. When it comes to BD, they have a BD plan which can be adjusted and reviewed every 6 months, and we’re keen to speak with someone who knows NSW and Sydney well. You will be overseeing a team of 2 – with the view to grow the team in the future. You will have plenty of support from State Manager, Practice Lead, as well as Directors to ensure success.

Planning Lead – Urban Planning & Regional Planning

We are working with a multi-disciplinary, well-established, and award-wining advisory practice having presence in major capital cities in Australia. This firm takes pride in their strong research and analytic capabilities, which offer unique insights and solutions for their client projects – from urban economics, property/industry-specific analysis, financial modelling, data analytics and GIS mapping!

As part of the plan to expand their Queensland planning practise, they are seeking to recruit a Planning Lead to be based in their Brisbane office. In this role, you will be working on and providing technical guidance on several large scale, long term strategic projects including master planning, planning proposals, reviewing and drafting infrastructure/development funding and contribution, reviewing policy and planning documentations, as well as working on other statutory planning and DA projects.
