We are currently seeking two dedicated Domestic Assistants / Laundry Assistants to join the team providing support services at Bethanie Fields Aged Care Home located in Eaton. Co-located with a retirement village, Bethanie Fields is a 160 bed facility designed specifically to provide support for people who need 24 hour care, including those with special care needs and dementia.

To be successful in this role, you will have experience in cleaning and / or laundering practices and be of a friendly nature, as interaction with our residents is core to our culture.

Successful applicants will form part of our casual pool who provide relief across both morning and afternoons, as well as on weekends and public holidays. Shifts for each role are as follows:

Domestic Assistant

• 7.30am - 3pm
• 8am - 4.30pm

Laundry Assistant

• 8am - 12pm or 1pm
• 8.30am or 9.30am - 4.30pm
• 10am - 2pm / 3pm
• 10.30am - 2.30pm, 3pm, 4pm or 4.30pm

About You

• Previous experience working as a Domestic Assistant / Cleaner or Laundry Assistant, ideally in an aged care, hospital or similar environment
• Have a ‘can do’ attitude and a genuine compassion for our residents
• Reliable with a strong work ethic
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to uphold the Mission, Vision and Values of The Bethanie Group
• Willingness to obtain relevant vaccinations
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to apply for one)

The Roles

Domestic Assistant

• Ensuring bathrooms, toilets, furniture, fittings, floors and communal areas are kept clean and tidy
• Ensuring supplies are stocked across the facility
• Liaising with other employees to ensure the needs of our residents are met
• Ensuring residents' personal clothing is individually labelled and put away in their rooms, identifying items that require mending

Laundry Assistant

• Ensuring all laundry and linen is laundered correctly and infection control practices are adhered to
• Sorting and washing linen by wash temperature, colour, degree of soiling, infectious nature, fabric and fibre
• Loading and unloading washing machines and tumble dryers
• Sorting and folding clean and dry linen
• Reporting damage or wear and recommending repairs or replacement

The Laundry Attendant is responsible for the hotel's and guests' laundry, delivery of laundry to the linen room, guests or designated areas in line with Hilton and the hotel policies and procedures.

Basic Function:

To ensure the cleaning and supplying of guest units and the comfort of all guests as set by the procedures and standards. 

Role and Responsibilities

Clean Guest areas likewise guest rooms, guest corridors, guest landing, stair case etc. following the established procedures and Four Seasons standards. Has a set number of occupied rooms to clean during a shift. Removes used towels and replaces them with clean ones from the Linen Closet. Wipes down any wet services in the bathroom. Folds any clothing left in room and places it in appropriate spot. Removes Room Service trays, dishes and carts to service landings. Closes drapes, reduces lighting, turn music on softly and prepares bed. Restocks used amenities such as shampoo, lotions, cotton balls, stationery and pens. Prepares unoccupied rooms for turndown for arriving guests. Performs duties in occupied rooms and late check-out rooms when needed.

Adhere to the established standard of safety, fire regulations, and department procedures and policies.

Comply with Four Seasons’ Category One and Category Two Work Rules and Standards of Conduct as set forth in EmPact.

Complete work assignments from the Housekeeping Department as assigned using required keys, equipment, supplies, etc.

Remove all garbage and recyclable items and place in the appropriate bins inside the service area. Keep service areas neat and tidy, clean and keep all HK tools and equipment’s during the day and before closing the shift.

Report any damages or repairs and maintenance needed to Housekeeping.

Report any items found in check-out units to Security and Housekeeping.

Dress in issued uniform and ensures a neat, clean, and tidy appearance at all times.

Report to work on time. Is aware of schedule at all times and if unable to attend work, notifies the Supervisor in adequate time.

Assists with responsibilities and duties in the absence or heavy volume in the areas of Lobby Attendant, Desk Attendant and House Attendant.

Knowledge And Skills

Education: Hotel Management Degree preferred
