**PRIMARY FUNCTION:**
Technical Process Leader - To have complete understanding of technical processes, challenges & takes responsibility for programs or processes supporting Target Architecture team goals while seeking continued improvement to Target Architectural programs & processes. Participate in the strategic growth of the team to support design & construction. Contributes to the research, advanced application of Architectural software for effective growth & build process efficiencies. Partner with internal teams, to assure the successful completion of all architecture programs including design of remodel efforts, Small format, new stores, sustainability programs, innovation, & facilities support. Manage Architecture Design support team, developing design documentation (including Architectural documentation, Special Projects 3D & BIM models & renderings). Facilitates coordination with architecture & engineering consultants on selected projects. Leads project collaboration tools & protocols, project file-management & other reference documentation. Strong advocate & brand management of the Target culture & Values.
**PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Recognized technical leaders within discipline & thorough understanding of how work affects other disciplines. Strategize & implement ways to improve productivity, design, accuracy & completeness of work. Responsible for pre-empting challenges/ complex problems & pro-actively resolving with technically sound solutions for trouble shooting. Ensures designs are executed effectively by design teams. Also Support multi-discipline teams in the execution & completion of engineering studies.
+ Contribute to positive work environment that encourages collaboration & promotes Target as a preferred workplace. Enhance partnership between Minneapolis & TII supporting our one team, two location philosophy. Provides technical leadership, motivation & assistance to managers & other team members to ensure teamwork & high performance in the accomplishment of all responsibilities & projects.
+ Technical Training : Cultivate talent by training, attracting & developing new team members. Work directly with team members to deepen skill set, expand technical software knowledge, which builds potential for new programs that support Target's vision. Closely monitor high potentials & provide resources for continued growth. Maintains formal feedback for team members. Initiate, conduct trainings & work programs in accordance with Target's policies, priorities & budget.
+ Evaluate BIM team workload capacity & requirements, & develop strategies to achieve business objectives within established budget & staffing levels.
+ Contributes to the research & application of initial design, retrofit for Target's properties. Applies Target's project management tools in support of Construction & Operations.
+ Assist in Research of products or systems for incorporation into Target's prototype designs & specifications.
+ Collaborates with A/E/Store planning to resolve project specific design issues.
+ Be accountable for high quality work which efficiently meets all deadlines, managing time accordingly, & communicating status to partners.
+ Manage & guide high performing full time resources & contractors.
**REPORTING/WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:**
Reports to Senior Manager & above. Maintain close working relationships with all relevant Directors & Managers.
**Education & Experience:**
1. Master/Bachelor's degree in Architecture from recognized university.
2. 12 to 15 years of experience with a consultant Architects firm, contractor or Retail Architectural
background.
3. Achieved recognized standing in professional field through personal contributions.
**Technical Skills:**
+ Proficient in the design & knowledgeable in the operation of Retail/commercial building Architecture.
+ Possess well developed knowledge of Retail /commercial building design & construction processes ability to effectively work with discipline specific Architecture software programs & project management applications.
+ Technical knowledge of the design & application of discipline specific products.
+ Actively involved in influencing industry & developing technical skills through participation in technical societies. Possess discipline specific relationships & resources outside Target Corporation to ensure Target is at the leading edge of design.
