About the Role
As an Editorial Project Manager, you will be responsible for a wide and interesting range of activities around creating content for various customers and platforms. You will take ownership for coordinating multiple projects to ensure successful collaboration for content quality and publication. You will provide advice and guidance to authors, contributors and editors to help them through the publication process. The main task of the Editorial Project Manager is to manage and develop all volumes in assigned series from pre-production manuscript stage through final production stages to ensure on-time publication of volumes.
Responsibilities- Managing multiple digital and print content projects though pre-publication to publication to ensure effective and accurate management and publication of print and digital assets- Collaborating with global cross-functional teams, authors, editors and contributors to solve problems and ensure successful on-time project publication- Building relationships with authors, contributors and editors to provide updates and guidance throughout the publication process to deliver an exceptional experience (through EMSS) - Creating and providing reports to communicate the progress of titles to Content Team Manager, Acquisitions Editors and Publishers- Communicating project statuses and updates to internal stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure quality and on-time publication
Requirements- 2-5 years experience of delivering budgeted titles on schedule using active monitoring- Communicating clearly with all stakeholders in writing and by phone- Resolving queries and problems quickly and completely- Reviewing manuscript components against a checklist- Tracking of all projects in purview and proactive problem solving- Tracking and update all metadata pertaining to books in PPM/CCM- Show experience of solving problems by implementing creative solutions that make a difference- Have excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new systems

Editorial Operations Manager

Reuters is looking for a talented and experienced Editorial Operations Manager in Bangalore to support our Global Operations team. This is a unique opportunity to join a high-performing and impactful team that makes a real difference in how news is delivered globally.

As key member of the Global Operations team, you will be highly numerate and data savvy with expertise in excel and data visualization tools such as PowerBi. Using your sharp analytical skills, you will conduct data analysis and provide freelancer spend oversight in support of operational and spend efficiencies. Calm and resilient, you will know how to react quickly and efficiently to deliver solutions and efficiencies. Extremely well-organised, you will also work on projects that span multiple countries and languages.

This is a full-time role that will require an in-office presence for a minimum of three days per week and will report to the General Manager, Contingent Workers.

About the role:

As an Editorial Operations Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing freelancer budget spend, producing a spend trend analysis to anticipate unplanned costs and working closely with Global Managers to flag concerns and identify solutions. 
  • Conducting a 3rd party agency contract review, including document and data collection, review of required contract language, shepherding through 3rd party contract updates where necessary and creating a database to house these.
  • Overseeing CEST compliance for non RSR workers and develop plan for same every six months.
  • Supporting workforce planning activities by assigning an FTE equivalent for each freelancer by Country and Freelancer that can be used in future SWP analyses.
  • Completing an equipment form usage audit, working with Global Managers to ensure documentation is in place and records are maintained.
  • Identifying and helping our wider team prioritize freelancer onboarding efficiencies.
  • Escalating and overseeing freelancer payment resolution issues.
  • Supporting contract cleanup initiative efforts.
  • Assisting in conducting freelancer country reviews (payment sources, contracts, risk)
  • Taking ownership of non-AP vetting tool access (Third Party Risk Management / including coordination with Finance and coordinating user training. 
  • Proactively work with corporate secretariats to validate and keep current our LE signatory list referenced on a daily basis for contract creation.
  • Assisting with various Power BI reporting, contract creation tool programming and on demand advanced analytics. 
  • About You:

    To be an Editorial Operations Manager, you will likely have:

  • Excellent organizational skills and experience in office administration and people management and problem solving.
  • At least 5+ Years of experience
  • Advanced excel, experience with Power BI reporting and a willingness to embrace new technologies, including AI.
  • Fluent written and spoken English; a second global language would be advantageous.
  • Experience of working in a large international company or media organisation.
  • An ability and desire to work with a team across languages and geographies.

    About the team

    This hire is for a newly formed, ‘Climate Studio’ team at Alt Carbon, in Bangalore. We have classic 0-1 problems to solve. Climate change is real. We’re on a mission to remove 5 million tonnes of CO2 by 2030. Every organisation must play its part to meet net-zero emissions by 2050. We’re looking for folks who are determined to create impact with the work they do.

    About the role

    The Content editor will report to the Head of Brand. This is a hands-on role, and will involve writing, editing, creative thinking, and ideating on strategies to make climate change real and actionable. The content will be primarily for our external owned media channels, helping build the brand quotient for Alt Carbon.

    The ideal candidate should be adept at creative writing, comfortable with writing, and manage production end-to-end. The person will also have an additional hire to assist in our content efforts.

    At Alt Carbon, we believe content is the mainstay of our brand strategy. The Climate Studio team will be driven wholly by content and use it as the lever to shape our brand. Therefore, this is a critical hire that will shape the brand in the coming years.


    What you will do

    • Owning all content that goes out from Alt Carbon on the website, social media, videos, blogs, research reports, bylined articles
    • Elevate the quality of content, ideate, strategize on content to enhance branding efforts
    • Set an editorial strategy to ensure content is consistent and compelling
    • Conceptualise campaigns across all social media
    • Write bylined articles that are forward-looking with regard to climate change, and policies

    Job Summary:


    We are looking for dynamic and passionate Content Editors to join our Edex team in Chennai. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in the field of education, student affairs, and youth trends. They will be responsible for curating, editing, and producing compelling content for both print and digital platforms of Edex.

    Key Responsibilities:


    • Edit and proofread articles submitted by reporters, freelancers, and contributors for accuracy, clarity, and grammar.
    • Curate and develop engaging content focused on education, careers, innovations, student initiatives, and campus life.
    • Work closely with the editorial team to plan and structure content for Edex print and web editions.
    • Ensure all content aligns with the Edex editorial guidelines and tone.
    • Keep up to date with current education trends, competitive exams, student issues, and policies impacting education.
    • Contribute fresh story ideas and support in conducting interviews and field reporting, when necessary.
    • Coordinate with designers and digital teams to ensure timely and quality content delivery.

    Required Skills & Qualifications:


    • Master’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, or a related field.
    • 1 – 2 years of experience in journalism, preferably with a focus on education, youth, or career-related content.
    • Strong editing, writing, and storytelling skills with impeccable grammar.
    • Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple assignments.
    • Familiarity with digital publishing tools and social media platforms is an added advantage.
    • A keen interest in the Indian education system and youth affairs.
