Lead Scientist

Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Scientist with a strong background in polymer science/material science/formulation science to spearhead the development of technology toolboxes to enable high performance silicone-based formulation to address emerging needs in automotive and consumer electronics markets.
The selected candidates are expected to bring strong expertise in development of structure-property-performance relationships and develop & deliver differentiated solutions aligned with the emerging trends, related market and business need, mentor team members, and collaborate effectively with analytical, process, IP, business R&D and marketing/sales functions to contribute to business growth

Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead and develop technology toolboxes / platform technology to enable development of solutions for emerging thermal management needs in Automotive and consumer electronics
  • Apply state-of-the-art technologies and statistical tools to derive structure-property-performance relationships, provide technical insight & integrate toolbox of technologies / insights into specific solutions for customers across globe,
  • Collaborating closely with the IP Team and marketing team to keep abreast of emerging trends and technologies, monitor scientific literature and develop plans / propose new concepts to continuously innovate and update technology toolboxes
  • Conduct IP landscape analyses in collaboration with IP analysts to build a strong technical footprint, contribute to the development of IP strategy and filing of invention disclosures.
  • Contribute to building a pipeline of relevant technology platforms while adding value to technical programs.
  • Translate technologies to manufacturing scale through supporting scale-up efforts – collaboration with Analytical teams, Process technology and Business R&D team across multiple site. Collaborate with product stewardship team to continuously asses regulatory risk and develop mitigation plan.
  • Communicate the developments to broader business team as key spokesperson on project status and relevant updates within technology review forums.
  • Prepare comprehensive high-impact technical reports, project summaries, and presentations for Internal stake holders and customers
  • Diligently document all experimental procedures and results in the Electronic Lab Notebook (ELNB); compile and analyze findings, deliver concise presentations to stakeholders, and author high-impact technical reports to ensure data integrity and support organizational knowledge sharing.
  • Acts as a knowledge source, offers technical guidance to project teams, resolves dead lock situations by constructive dialogue, provide technical mentoring to junior scientists and technicians, fostering a learning and innovation culture.
  • Champion lab safety and ensure all activities adhere to EHS standards and quality systems in all day-to-day activities and lab operations.
  • Qualifications:

    The following are required for the role

  • PhD with 5+ years of job exp Or Tech with 8-10 years of research/work experience
  • Major in Polymer Science, Material Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Formulation Science, or related field
  • Hands-on experience in formulation DOE, scale-up, application development, and performance testing
  • Strong analytical, data interpretation, and statistical analysis skills.
  • Team player with problem-solving mindset, and high technical curiosity.
  • Strong English communication skills – verbal, written, and presentation – for both technical and non-technical audiences.

The ability to communicate complex scientific concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences is essential. Responsibilities include:
