Location: Onsite at RV University
Duration: 6 months, extendable.
Reporting to: Prof Ranjini C R, Professor, Public Policy
Start Date: Sept 1, 2025
Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Research Assistant to support ongoing projects and courses in Public Policy , Information and Communication Technology for Development (ICT4D) , and Global Health . The role will involve assisting in curriculum development for a Public Policy course, conducting literature reviews, compiling data, and preparing reports on technology-enabled development and public health interventions, particularly in low- and middle-income country contexts.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive literature reviews and desk research on public policy, ICT4D, and global health topics.
- Assist in developing reading lists, case studies, and teaching materials for a Public Policy course.
- Collect, organize, and analyze data from academic publications, reports, and online sources.
- Summarize research findings into clear, concise briefs, presentations, and annotated bibliographies.
- Track emerging trends, policies, and innovations in technology for development and digital health ecosystems.
- Support drafting and editing of research papers, policy briefs, and grant proposals.
- Maintain research databases and ensure proper referencing and citation.
- Coordinate with stakeholders, faculty, and external experts as needed.
- Contribute towards organising various events in the School of Economics and Public Policy
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (completed or in progress) in Public Policy, Development Studies, Global Health, ICT4D, Social Sciences, or related fields.
- Knowledge of Kannada.
- Strong research, analytical, and writing skills.
- Familiarity with academic databases.
- Proficiency in citation management tools
- Ability to synthesize large amounts of information into actionable insights.
Desirable Skills
- Experience in mixed-methods research.
- Knowledge of India’s public policy ecosystem and/or global health frameworks.
- Familiarity with ICT tools and platforms for data collection and analysis.
- Prior experience in curriculum design or academic writing.
