Directs emergency repair of machinery and plant equipment in his or her area of responsibility specifically for Machine electrical PM. Manages direct reports to ensure they perform with the highest level of safety, quality of work, and productivity possible. Executes the plant’s preventative maintenance plan in his or her area of responsibility.

Maintenance supervisors act as a link between senior management and the rest of the maintenance team by serving as the primary channel for the flow of information within a facility. They are expected to organize, supervise, and direct maintenance workers. Although they are members of the maintenance team, this job title is considered as part of middle management. Therefore, maintenance supervisors usually occupy a more managerial role compared to maintenance technicians and mechanics. On a typical workday, you will find maintenance supervisors working primarily with the technicians and other employees on duty. They must lead and motivate the team and delegate tasks accordingly. They may report to a maintenance manager, facilities manager, maintenance director, or some other executive. Because they provide such an essential service in overall maintenance management, maintenance supervisors can find work in various types of industries. The size of the organization will shape the exact capacity in which a maintenance supervisor will work.

Bachelor’s Degree with at least 55% of marks or its equivalent grade of B in the UGC seven point scales OR B. Tech Civil/Electrical from a reputed recognised institution with 5-7 years of experience in relevant field.

THE ROLE:

Reporting to the Engineering Manager the purpose of the Maintenance Supervisor is to achieve engineering/maintenance targets and implement a preventive maintenance culture through a diverse team of people providing leadership and guidance in GMP, OHS and cost control.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE; BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Ensures all maintenance tasks are executed using the appropriate safety standards and are compliant with policies, regulations and SOP’s
• Ensure that Maintenance Department targets are being met such as minimum down time and break downs
• Conducting root cause analyses to identify machinery issues and diagnostic support
• Supervise maintenance processes so that all works are completed as efficiently as possible and to the required quality standards
• Review standard maintenance tasks and other relevant documents and to drive continuous improvement and efficiency
• Manage the Mechanical maintenance team via effective training, mentoring, coaching, motivating, performance managing and communication
• Maintain an understanding of the principles of GMP as applied to plant and equipment

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE/BE:

• Tertiary qualified in Engineering or Trade qualified in mechanical/electrical
• Experience in Pharmaceutical/Food or other FMCG industry within a development in a maintenance / production environment
• Experience in a team leader or supervisor role in a maintenance environment
• Demonstrated knowledge of GMP principles and OH&S requirements
• Sound understanding of computerised maintenance management systems (SAP preferred)
• Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills with the proven ability to coach and mentor staff
• Excellent organisational, planning/resourcing and time management skills
• Be Proactive and Self-motivated
• Honest, enthusiastic and willing to learn
• Have great attention to detail and be able to prioritise effectively and to adapt to changing priorities
• Able to set up new systems and review existing systems for continual improvement

The Role

The individual will assist in the daily management of the workshop and provide leadership to maintenance and support staff. They will act as the point of contact between the Site Manager and the maintenance team in the safe and efficient delivery of projects and business goals.

A working knowledge of Epiroc D65 surface drills would be an advantage.

 Key Responsibilities:

• Scheduling drill servicing across Epiroc D65s rigs.
• Organising unscheduled repairs.
• Organise resources, provide technical advice, leadership and direction to workshop crew.
• Ensure staff have optimum workloads available as well as hands-on training for safe and efficient performance.
• Identify parts and materials required for daily maintenance activities.
• Manage maintenance and rebuild practices as well as the condition of the workplace to company and industry standards.
• Promote and engage in effective communication across all parts of the business.
• Ensure JSA's, SWP & TAKE 5 procedures and documentation are completed and recorded in line with SRG Global and Client Induction guidelines.

• A HD Mechanical Trade Certificate
