Role Definition
Leads team supporting operations and manufacturing processes, tooling and tool design, and equipment needed to successfully and economically produce assigned parts/products in accordanced with engineering specifications.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Process Validation team to ensure manufacturing processes are thoroughly validated prior to production. Ensure alignment with internal manufacturing standards, facility objectives, and New Product Introduction (NPI) goals, while maintaining compliance and driving operational excellence
- Oversee industrial engineering functions including line balancing, cycle time determination, manpower analysis and layout optimization
- Develop and maintain documentation for validation protocols, reports, and standard work
- Collaborate cross-functionally with design, quality, and operations teams to support new product introductions and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, quality, and cost efficiency
- Leading manufacturing processing, cost estimating, cost management, systems planning, layout, standards, releasing, etc.
- Managing development, implementation and continual improvement of the operating methods, equipment, systems and other operating infrastructure used to realize operating goals and objectives.
- Utilize data-driven approaches to solve complex manufacturing challenges and optimize throughput.

**Continuous improvement leadership**
+ **Champion a robust culture of continuous improvement** by actively driving Lean and OpEx initiatives.
+ Work across functions and lead the Manufacturing Engineering Team to identify, implement and execute improvement strategies.
+ Utilize data-driven methodologies, such as Value Stream Mapping, to identify and eliminate all forms of waste (e.g., time, motion, and material) within the manufacturing process.
+ Conduct root cause analysis for all quality and production issues, implementing effective and sustainable corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
+ Establish and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) like Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), cycle time reduction, and first-pass yield to track and sustain gains.

+ Develop and maintain critical manufacturing documentation, including SOPs and work instructions, that reflect standardized and optimized processes.
+ Work collaboratively with Quality, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to resolve production issues and ensure a seamless and efficient flow of material and information.
**Requirement:**
+ Strong leadership skills are necessary, especially the ability to influence across an organization and build high performing teams
+ BS or BA Degree in relevant field and 8-10 years relevant experience
**Preferred Experience / Skills:**
+ Must have a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical / Production / Mechatronics Engineering or related field.
+ Minimum 10 years in leadership roles in industrial operations  driving quality / operations / engineering.

You will be responsible for all aspects of plant operations, including production planning, resource allocation, cost control, team leadership, and continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct and manage all aspects of daily manufacturing operations to ensure efficient production, high quality, and on-time delivery.
  • Develop and implement strategic operational plans aligned with company objectives and market demands.
  • Oversee production scheduling, resource allocation, and capacity planning to meet production targets.
  • Manage operational budgets, controlling costs and identifying opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency gains.
  • Implement and champion lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and other continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of production supervisors, engineers, and line staff, fostering a culture of performance and accountability.
  • Oversee inventory management, material handling, and warehousing operations to optimize flow and minimize waste.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, and maintenance departments to resolve production issues and implement process improvements.
  • Drive initiatives to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and reduce downtime.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and implement performance improvement plans for operational teams.
  • Manage vendor relationships related to production supplies and equipment.
  • Analyze production data to identify trends, bottlenecks, and opportunities for optimization.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant industry standards and certifications.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing) or a related field. Master's degree or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in manufacturing operations management, with a significant leadership component.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale production facilities and diverse workforces.
  • In-depth knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of production planning, inventory control, quality management, and safety regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, team-building, and motivational skills.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and other manufacturing software.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing operational budgets.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

  2. Study and analyze component/assembly drawings, 3D models, and GD&T from R&D/Suppliers, and prepare conceptual fixture/tool layouts for machining and assembly.
  3. Prepare and release TS documents such as SOP, Control Plan, Process Flow Chart, and PFMEA.
  4. Conceptual design of position gauges for assembly/machining using AutoCAD/Pro-E.

Experience & Skills:

  • 57 years of experience in the automobile industry in process/fixture/tool/gauge design

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide technical support to the Manufacturing Engineering function in order to assure manufacturability.
- Increase Manufacturing Engineers expertise by developing tools, skills and procedures in accordance with Safran Corporate guidelines.
Responsibilities
Deploy and maintain tools
- Support introduction of new PDM system (Product Data Management)
- Ensure availability and reliability of all technical data required to support manufacturing (manufacturing file)
- Contribute to the digital/seamless design roadmap by collecting/assessing specific needs related to technical design and process
Develop expertise
- Maintain internal procedures (manufacturing engineering standard) to assure products manufacturability and quality objectives
- Train new Manufacturing Engineers
- Coordinate development of expertise within the manufacturing engineering community (~ 6 engineers reporting to 2 Production Unit Managers)
- Ensure company policy and best practices are implemented in a consistent manner within the 2 Production Units
- Liaise with Safran Electronics & Defense' Actuation Business Unit and Electronics Operations Center networks to share and promote best practices
Leadership
- Participate to Plant Board Committee to support technical-related issues
- Functional management of manufacturing engineering (direct reporting to Production Unit Managers)
