Job Description
As a Scientist at MKS-Atotech, you will be a part of materials science department under Chemical and Physical Characterization (CPC) for preferred innovation partner in R&D as well as external customer. In this role, you will report to one of the Team Manager (Materials Science).
**You Will Make an Impact By**:
- You are responsible for independently conducting, analyzing, and reporting materials science investigations using advanced tools such as FE-SEM, XRF, and optical microscopy etc., while also handling assembly tasks such as soldering and bonding properties of printed circuit boards
- Partner with R&D teams in the development of new products and processes
- You will prepare and deliver quality reports, manage documentation to enhance customer satisfaction
- Ensure the operational availability of the laboratory equipment and troubleshooting of instruments
- Documentation of materials science processes and investigations according to ISO 9001/14001/45001/17025
- Safety is our top priority—lab activities are conducted in adherence to HSE requirements, including proper storage and handling of chemicals as per SOPs and MSDS guidelines, and the safe disposal of effluents

**What will you bring to the team**:
- PH. D in Material Science/ Chemical Engineering/ Physics/ Chemistry with relevant 0-2 years of experience

- Good communication skills in English

Solid understanding of analog and digital circuits their operation and analysis
Extensive hands on experience working with different lab equipment for taking data and / or performing device debug or failure analysis. For example, use of the curve tracers; return loss analyzers, oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers.
Experience of bench testing of op-amps, ADCs, mixed –signal circuits and digital circuits
Experience with bench validation and characterization PCBs
Experience with integrated circuit and device failure analysis

The ideal candidate will hold a Ph.D. in Material Science, Physics, Chemistry, or a related field, with a minimum of 8 years of post-doctoral research experience. Demonstrated success in leading research projects, a strong publication record, and experience in grant writing are essential. Expertise in advanced characterization techniques (e.g., electron microscopy, spectroscopy) and materials modeling is highly desirable. This position is based in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh and requires full-time presence at our client's research facility.
