About the role
In this role you will partner closely with executives, business stakeholders and external contacts to manage media relations. You will uphold the external reputation of the Fund and position Cbus as a thought leader to advance our members’ interests. This will include:
- Preparing media releases, opinion articles, speeches, briefing notes, video content, and social media content
- Monitoring current news topics and advising on the best approach to reputation management
- Building and maintaining strong working relationships with internal SMEs, key media contacts and industry partners
- Planning and delivering media and communications content to align with Cbus’ strategy and business plan
- Building the media profile of Cbus Chair, CEO, CIO and other key fund leaders
Experience and Qualifications
You’ll bring:
- Demonstrated experience managing media relations and external communications within a complex, highly regulated environment
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills and a high degree of attention to detail
- An understanding of Australian media landscape and established media contacts
- The ability to work under pressure and meet critical deadlines within a changing work environment
An understanding of the superannuation industry landscape and current events and challenges would be an advantage. Key to your success will be your ability to identify and leverage topical issues to drive awareness of the business and advocate for our members.
