General purpose of the position
To serve as the main point of contact for the press and media for Humane World for Animals India Foundation and strive to get press coverage for all campaigns and programs of the organization.
Essential duties and responsibilities
Traditional media (70%)
1. Develops and implements a comprehensive media plan for Humane World for Animals India Foundation's campaigns with the support of Humane World for Animals's global media department.
2. Fosters and maintains key relationships with media in India and builds media contacts for Humane World for Animals India Foundation across the country.
3. Strengthens Humane World for Animals's media presence in India, understanding and adequately communicating Humane World for Animals India Foundation's campaign narrative.
4. Creates awareness and garners substantial media coverage of Humane World for Animals India Foundation's campaigns and programs including blogs, editorials, and press releases.
5. Pitches articles, press releases and other stories required to journalists and other media stakeholders.
6. Trains and coordinates a host of media interns/volunteers in executing the campaign's media strategy.
Reporting (20%)
7. Documents and reports relevant media stories as and when they happen.
8. Analyses performance of media outreach and submits reports as and when required by the Director, Operations.
Celebrity Outreach (10%)
9. Develops and implements a comprehensive celebrity engagement plan for Humane World for Animals India Foundation's campaigns and programs.
