As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting our physicians and ensuring the efficient operation of our laboratory services. This position involves working closely with physicians, collecting blood samples from patients, and participating in health camps on weekends.
**Responsibilities**:
1. Blood Collection: Skillfully collect blood samples from patients using proper venipuncture techniques while maintaining a sterile and safe environment. Ensure accurate labeling and documentation of all specimens collected.
2. Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment and instruments to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
3. Quality Control:Conduct quality control checks on laboratory equipment and test results to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and maintain the integrity of laboratory procedures.
4. Data Entry and Record Keeping: Record test results accurately in laboratory information systems (LIS) or electronic health records (EHR). Maintain comprehensive and organized records of patient information, test results, and laboratory procedures.
5.Collaboration:Work collaboratively with physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide timely and accurate laboratory services. Communicate effectively with healthcare team members regarding patient care and laboratory test results.
6. Health Camp Participation: Participate in health camps organized by the polyclinic on weekends to provide laboratory services, conduct screenings, and assist healthcare professionals in delivering preventive care to the community.
7. Adherence to Safety Protocols:Adhere to established safety protocols and procedures in handling hazardous materials, infectious specimens, and biohazardous waste. Maintain a clean and orderly laboratory environment to ensure the safety of staff and patients.
**Qualifications**:
- Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT) or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
- Valid certification in phlebotomy and venipuncture techniques.
- experience working as a Medical Laboratory Technician in a healthcare setting.
- Proficiency in laboratory testing procedures, equipment operation, and quality control protocols.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and adherence to standard operating procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Willingness to work weekends and participate in health camps as required.
