Qualifications and Skills
- Expertise in specimen collection techniques to ensure proper handling and integrity of samples at all times.
- Proficiency in operating laboratory information systems to manage patient data and test results effectively and securely.
- Skill in phlebotomy required for safe and efficient collection of blood and other specimens from patients.
- Experience with clinical chemistry testing, ensuring precise and accurate analysis of blood and bodily fluids.
- Competency in hematology analysis, including the ability to identify cell morphology and blood disorders.
- Knowledge of microbiology techniques to conduct various tests and interpret results accurately.
- An understanding of quality control procedures to maintain laboratory accreditation and standards.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards including CLIA and CAP to ensure adherence to health and safety guidelines.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory tests according to established protocols and record results accurately for diagnostic purposes.
- Ensure the proper operation, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory equipment to optimize performance and reliability.
- Maintain comprehensive records of laboratory activities and ensure traceability and accountability of test results.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to analyze results and provide insights for patient diagnosis and treatment.
- Conduct routine quality checks and troubleshoot issues to uphold the laboratory's reliability and service quality.
- Participate in continuous learning and training to stay updated with advanced laboratory techniques and procedures.
- Adhere to safety policies and procedures to create a secure work environment and minimize hazards.
- Assist with inventory management by ensuring adequate supplies are available for laboratory operations.
