Sr Medical Research Associate  

POSITION PURPOSE:

Senior Medical Research Associate is key resource personnel in Medical Affairs for managing and executing Phase IV studies (including Post marketing surveillance studies, Non-interventional studies (NIS), mandated Phase IV studies including interventional post-approval trials) activities across all business areas. He/She is responsible for all operational and quality aspects of the allocated studies in compliance with ICH-GCP, local regulations and within the agreed timelines and cost.

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

As Individual contributor:

  • To Coordinate all study activities like CRO selection, preparation of study documents for review, site selection and feasibility, update relevant tracking systems on an on-ging basis, implement quality checks especially for outsourced studies and manage clinical trial oversight, manage study budget and required resources, site monitoring, quality review and archival. The major responsibility includes on-time and on-budget completions in India.
  • To have an oversight on CRO partners for outsourced studies by conducting oversight quality visits at sites if applicable, conduct regular meetings and seek regular updates on study progress.
  • Organize Investigators meetings if applicable, conduct site feasibility visits and site initiation visits if applicable to ensure that the study staff are well trained and familiar with the protocol and study procedures.
  • Responsible for the implementation and training of standardized processes within the study and according to organizational SOPs.
  • Development of essential studies as per the local requirement and creating the essential documents like protocol, ICF etc with coordination with global/local team members.
  • Ensures that essential documents meet the quality expectations of regulatory requirements in India and Bayer guidelines/SOPs.
  • Reports and/or communication with Health Authority/IRB/Investigators and global/country study team, marketing/sales departments to update and share study progress, protocol, safety and other issues where necessary and submit annual-bi-annual report to regulatory teams in order to meet local requirements.
  • To provide efficient and timely study updates to Manager Medical Operations.
  • WHO YOU ARE:

  • A Qualified pharmacy or science/life-science graduate/ postgraduate.
  • Desirable previous experience of around 5 years in clinical research.
  • Strong skills in managing stakeholders and good understanding of handling clinical trials in line with ICH-GCP and local regulations.

    **Main Purpose of the job:**
    1. Responsible for conducting scientific research in the area of food safety in line with global strategy.
    2. Lead, manage and support projects aligned to NIFSAS/NFSI strategy to deliver business needs as per defined timelines.
    3. Carry out Lab activities end to end and ensure the proficiency and optimal functioning of the lab in line with Nestle and/or IS 17025 GLP & Safety protocols.

    **Key Outputs:**
    Scientific Research & Technical Assistance
    + Lead, manage and support scientific research projects and experiments to deliver business needs aligned to global strategy in collaboration with NIFSAS, NFSI China, NPTC's, NQAC, CO-QM, Markets, Academia and Analytical Partners, etc. Support other ongoing NFSI & R&D projects as core/extended team members.
    + Document all scientific research as per i2l and/or other Technical Assistance(TA) /Proof of Concepts (POC)
    + I2L or POC - IP/ Patents and update for relevant governance mechanisms
    + Validate and establish validation dossiers for new and existing methods according to Nestlé validation standards as required within project activities
    + Provide reliable analytical data in a timely manner to support projects for R&D, NIFSAS or Market.
    + Build and document knowledge (Laboratory Instructions/SOP's/R&D Reports) from projects and/or about latest methods, trends and developments in relevant field
    + Method Completion, Transfer and Deployment end to end in line with relevant stakeholders (NIFSAS/NFSI, R&D, Market, NQAC, etc.). Support Markets/NQAC in implementing method updates, alternative methods and in establishing monitoring plans.
    + Support relevant stakeholders in Market and above market for any trouble shooting, duly compensated with science based facts/ literature/ evidence for any escalated business challenges
    + Digitalization initiatives/ mechanisms like early warnings
    + Share /present results/methods in written and oral form to internal & external stakeholders as per confidentiality principles
    Laboratory Methods and Practices:
    + Responsible for efficient (safety, time, cost) functioning of the laboratory including availability of equipment to carry out analysis, internal and external quality control
    + Select, organize and follow up analysis performed by subcontracted labs, as per scope of work
    + Conducting self-assessment/verification and internal audits to ensure Lab Safety & GLP systems/compliance
    + Assist factories and markets in matters related to instrumentation, analytical monitoring and Good Laboratory Practice.
    **Years of experience:** Minimum 2 years in the area of food related research and analysis.
    **Education:** Preferably PhD in Chemistry, Organic chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Dairy, Oil, Food Chemistry, Food Science Or Masters in same subjects with min 5-7 years work experience

    • Developing relationships with key decision makers (Head of Departments, Dean of Faculties, PIs, Researchers.) and teaching/research staff at Universities and Research Institutes through daily outreach (phone calls, 1:1 meetings, emails, tailored projects etc)
    • Providing customer feedback to sales, product and marketing teams
    • Delivering Product Awareness within new and ongoing customer Universities and Research Institutes
    • Maintaining positive ongoing relationships with customer institutes during the sales cycle, and after a sale to provide support and ensure client satisfaction and retention


    Requirements:


    • A Masters or PhD Degree in STEM discipline
    • Excellent English communication skills
    • Prior working experience in laboratory settings
    • Experience in Science Communications or Customer-facing roles is considered a plus!
    • Thorough understanding of education and research trends and challenges in assigned content areas i.e. Biology, Chemistry, Medicine, Physics, Engineering, or Psychology
    • Demonstrated ability to deliver excellent presentations for large and small groups
    • Proven ability to network with scientists and decision-makers
    • Open to travel
