YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary Activities:

  • Exchange and dissemination of scientific, educational, and research related information:
  • The MSL plans, prepares and engages with Thought Leaders (TLs – Doctors) as an information scientist and colleague both proactively and reactively via various innovative TL engagements tactics and formats. MSLs provide dissemination, clarification and education of scientific data, study protocols, meeting abstracts, and professional literature (both proactive discussions on-label, and reactive discussions for unsolicited off-label questions in alignment with local regulations).
  • Interactions with Medical Societies and Advisory Boards:

  • The MSL answers medical / scientific queries of Medical Societies with regards to Bayer products and organizes / supports / participates in advisory boards.
  • Participation at / networking in Congresses and Conventions:
  • The MSL attends congresses and conventions, interacts with TLs (Doctors), establishes new contacts and gathers competitive intelligence.
  • Coordination of Scientific Education Activities:
  • The MSL plans and organizes scientific training and education events / sessions with TLs within their specific therapeutic area or product.
  • TL identification / profiling / segmentation and strategy and engagement planning:

  • In alignment with product Medical Affairs plan, the MSL contributes to internal understanding of specific TL interests and expertise within the medical community at large. 
  • Preparation of reports and tracking activities:

  • The MSL submits timely reports and tracks activities against agreed objectives
  • Secondary Activities:

  • External scientific support, training and education: The MSL provides additional external scientific support, training & education not covered by other primary activities
  • WHO YOU ARE:

  • Qualification in natural sciences, or Medical background (MD/ MBBS/BAMS/ BDS/ MDS)

    Job Description
    Medical Science Liaison, Oncology
    Develops and maintains professional relationships with internal and external customers to provide comprehensive medical and scientific support to Abbvie initiatives in assigned therapeutic areas.
    Executes against the Medical Affairs plan for India. Provides scientific education and training initiatives across Abbvie Oncology portfolio. Plans and leads scientific communication with key therapy leaders and stakeholders, organizing advisory board meetings, facilitating clinical trials, and serving as the medical resource for both external and internal stakeholders. This position is a non-promotional role. The primary focus is providing Healthcare Professionals with fair and balanced scientific information.
    Facilitates information, education, and research activities for physicians and ancillary healthcare professionals regarding current and future therapies in development or commercialized by Abbvie. Works closely with other Abbvie personnel to ensure information, education, and research needs of healthcare professionals are met and to ensure scientific and technical training needs of commercial organizations are identified and met.
    Key Responsibilities Area
    As an internal medical / technical / scientific resource, leads medical affairs objectives in the affiliate country. The role requires competency in practical aspects of patient care, and the ability to use medical and scientific information to facilitate engagement of physicians and others in the clinical and basic scientific issues relevant to Abbvie's products.
    Responsible for maintaining annual expenses within assigned budget parameters.
    Responsible for accurate and timely documentation of medical lead activities.
    The employee must conduct their work activities in compliance with all Abbvie internal requirements and with all applicable regulatory requirements. Abbvie internal requirements include compliance with ethics, environmental health and safety, financial, human resources, and general business policies, requirements and objectives.
    Identify, develop and maintain professional relationships with thought leaders, academic centers and researchers in assigned areas of therapeutic interest to ensure access to current medical and scientific information on Abbvie products.
    Work closely with the Commercial leaders for business planning , Therapeutic leads & Dir, Medical Affairs to set priorities, and activities.
    Upon request, present data on Abbvie products to healthcare professionals including physicians, academic institutions, researchers, and other health care professionals.
    Support research initiatives as requested by Abbvie R&D, Clinical Operations, and Medical Affairs Departments.
    Serve as internal medical and scientific resource to assigned Abbvie therapeutic areas for development of disease-state and product communications and materials that are medically accurate, balanced, and consistent with regulatory guidelines.
    Support Round Table and Advisory Board sessions to ensure accuracy of scientific and clinical data.
    Conducts on-going training to medical affairs, field sales and other internal personnel as required.
    A high level of travel / field time is to be expected within this position (approximately 60% of time spent outside the office). This role will also serve as the local representative of the Global Medical Office associated functions. (eg PV, HEOR etc)

    The Senior Medical Science Liaison will contribute to the achievement of the Medical Affairs department goals through engaging in medical and scientific exchanges and gaining insights in support of Telix Pharmaceuticals’ products, research areas, and disease state of interest. They will develop and maintain relationships with medical experts in the fields of oncology, urology, radiology and nuclear medicine and other medical disciplines related to the diagnosis and/or management of patients relevant to the Company’s product portfolio. Through scientific exchange, they will communicate and advance the scientific platform aligned with the overall medical communications and Medical Affairs strategies in Australia and New Zealand.

    Key Accountabilities

    • Identify and forge professional peer-to-peer relationships with National, Regional, and Local key opinion leaders.
    • Aid in new site onboarding, helping the site optimize PET camera settings and protocols to increase proper use of Telix radiopharmaceuticals in commercial settings and clinical trial setup.
    • Align and execute field activities in support of the Medical Affairs Strategic plan, including congress strategy, pre and post launch activities, and clinical trial recruitment.
    • Identify and communicate research gaps, opportunities, and relevant field intelligence to inform medical strategy.
    • Accelerate recruitment efforts and enhance subject retention at targeted clinical trial sites.
    • Leverage expertise to enhance and broaden knowledge among internal and external stakeholders.
    • Attend medical/scientific meetings to represent Medical Affairs with KOLs and other HCPs, strengthen individual expertise/proficiency as well as capture, integrate, and summarize information of strategic interest.
    • Appropriately facilitate submission of Medical Education grants and Investigator-Initiated Research.
    • Provide product training and presentations to internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate communication and utilization of Telix products. Support in deck creation and material review.
    • Support cross-functional colleagues (e.g. commercial, marketing, clinical operations), in appropriate activities.
    • Actively participate in relevant team meetings, organizational activities, and HQ-driven medical affairs and clinical research activities (e.g. advisory boards, publication planning, investigator meetings).
    • Leveraging unique skill sets, assume lead responsibility for project work identified by Medical Affairs leadership and/or organizational priorities.
    • Maintain a high level of team knowledge of and appropriately implement current local pharmaceutical regulation and ensure implementation of Telix policies and procedures. Ensure all MSL activities, including external interactions, are conducted in accordance with Telix objectives, compliance policies and procedures as well as with legal and ethical standards.

    Education and Experience

    • Undergraduate degree with a focus on sciences, healthcare, or medical sciences required. Graduate degree preferred (e.g. PharmD, PhD, MD, RN).
    • Certification by the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia (MRPBA) or the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia (MRPBA) preferred.
    • 5+ years’ experience as a Medical Science Liaison or in medical affairs.
    • Experience in GU oncology, radiopharmaceuticals preferred
    • Thorough understanding of relevant policies guiding the Pharmaceutical Industry.
    • Experience/expertise in interpretation of scientific data, market research, and competitive intelligence tools.
    • Experience in a role covering several countries is an advantage.

    - The MSL shall act as a scientific expert between Bayer and the medical community through the dissemination and education of scientific data and material.
    - The MSL establishes long-term scientific/strategic relationships with key, influential physicians/scientists/stakeholders and with related major medical associations and academic centers of excellence.
    - These relationships will ensure that Thought Leaders (TLs) and organizations have access to relevant scientific information and that pertinent information is shared with the medical community.
    - The MSL uses his/her experience and knowledge interacting with key external medical and pharmacy professionals through the process of education via one-on-one interaction; small group discussion and symposia lecture presentations including interactions associated with sponsored medical education programs and research protocols.
    - The MSL facilitates TL involvement in national, regional and local educational forums including advisory boards, symposia and Continuing Medical Education (CMEs).

    **Primary Activities**

    **Secondary Activities**
    - Market Access: The MSL provides assistance to Medical Advisors and Market Access and supports presentations of new information to hospital formularies and reimbursement decisions makers as required.

    Medical Science Liaison – Medical Dermatology (Acne) - West Region , Field Based

    Summary :

    Medical Science Liaison- Dermatology is a field based position and will serve as a scientific peer and resource within the dermatology medical community, and act as a scientific expert to his/her colleagues. MSLs will primarily identify and engage with a targeted group of national and regional thought leaders/professionals as well as payers and managed care accounts, providing the consistent delivery of educational and compliant scientific information in support of Dermatology products. Primary responsibility will be to respond to complex inquiries in a scientific, fair-balanced, compliant manner serving as a critical field medical resource to these professionals and also, internal SUN Dermatology sales and managed markets constituents. 

    Area of Responsibility:

  • Provide field insights and activity updates through regular meetings and other communication channels with the Vice President of Medical and Scientific Affairs.
  • Interact with healthcare providers and thought leaders to communicate and advance the scientific platform as aligned with SUN Dermatology's corporate goals and objectives.
  • Provide medical information and facilitate scientific exchange in a fair, balanced, and compliant manner and provide clinical/scientific insight and support for SUN Dermatology.
  • Ensure appropriate dissemination of clinical and scientific information in a timely, ethical and customer-focused manner.
  • Provide disease education as appropriate. Implement clinical and educational strategies in collaboration with colleagues.
  • Provide clinical presentations and information in response to unsolicited questions (as appropriate) in academic, community, and healthcare provider settings in both group and one-on-one settings
  • Establish, build and maintain relationships with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and other healthcare professions in dermatology.
  • Identify and train members of SUN Dermatology's speakers’ bureau and ensure they are updated on new data
  • Provide clinical and economic value information to payers and formulary decision makers
  • Contribute to the overall strategic focus of the Medical and Scientific Affairs team.
  • Serve as a medical resource internally and externally.
  • Provide scientific support to scientific group meetings, advisory boards, and other relevant meetings.
  • Act as primary liaison to investigators interested in developing and performing investigator initiated research
  • Support clinical trials as needed, as well as investigator initiated trials.
  • Partner internally with office based medical and commercial colleagues around strategy, messaging and field intelligence
  • Participate in the identification and publication of scientific materials
  • Align customers’ educational and research needs with available SUN Dermatology resources and provide the latest emerging data in response to specific healthcare professional inquiries.
  • Seek out opportunities to support the MSL value proposition, achieve results and set an example for others to follow by consistently demonstrating SUN Dermatology values and leadership attributes
  • Must be a strong team player who can effectively interface with SUN clinical and commercial personnel, as well as aide in training of SUN staff

    Education and Job Qualifications:

  • Doctorate degree required (PharmD, MD, DO, or PhD)
  • At least 2-4 years of experience as an MSL in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry is required.
  • Some experience in a dermatology (Acne) MSL role is preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of medicine, treatment guidelines, clinical research processes, customer strategies, and FDA promotional guidelines, regulations, and ethical guidelines applied to the pharmaceutical industry is preferred.
  • Thorough grasp of the pharmaceutical industry, FDA requirements and PhRMA code
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, team, written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong presentation and education skills; ability to communicate clinical and non-clinical technical information effectively
  • Demonstrated project management ability
  • Ability to travel up to 60-75%
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite applications
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Experience:

  • At least 2-4 years of experience as an MSL in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry is required.
