Role Description

Responsibilities:
- To assist Application user cases relating to abuse, mental Health and trauma on voice and non-voice (call and chats) on iDare Platforms
- Conduct User Assessments: Perform comprehensive assessments of individuals' needs, including evaluating symptoms, identifying risk factors, and formulating customised plans.
- Crisis Intervention: Provide immediate support and intervention for individuals experiencing distress, including assessing for safety, facilitating de-escalation, and coordinating appropriate referrals for further care if necessary.
- Education: Educate clients and their families about rights violation, mental health conditions, treatment options, coping strategies, and community resources available to support their well-being.
- Collaborate with Multidisciplinary Team: Work closely with other Team members to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for clients. Including but not limiting to creating content
- Maintain Documentation: Keep accurate and up-to-date records of client assessments, progress notes, and interventions in compliance with confidentiality and privacy regulations.
- Continuous Professional Development: Stay informed about current developments in the field, participate in ongoing training and professional development activities, and pursue opportunities for growth as appropriate.
- Promote Awareness : Engage in outreach efforts to raise awareness about Abuse, Trauma, Mental health to reduce stigma, and advocate for the importance of holistic wellness.
- Engage with clients professionally while actively listening to their concerns.
- Manage queries and provide support to users in situations of distress
Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in Psychology or Counselling
- Preferred candidates specialized in counselling psychology.
- Flexible to work in rotational shifts.
- Maintain typing speed of 30-35 words per minute with 90% accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability to empathize with individuals who have experienced abuse or injustice, and to provide compassionate support and understanding.
- Deep understanding of the importance of mental health and well-being, and a commitment to promoting mental health awareness and support.
- Collaborative team player.
- Structured and conceptual approach to work.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Knowledge of Kannada and/or other regional languages is an added advantage.

The Opportunity
- Delivering in-person and telehealth therapeutic care to people accessing mental health support at IPC Health

About the Service
IPC Health's Mental Health Service is a confidential service that comprises of three mental health streams:
- Community health counselling
- Head to Health
- CAREinMIND
IPC Health's Mental Health Service takes a holistic approach to mental health. Our mental health clinicians will apply a no-wrong-door approach. approach to understand what’s going on for the person and match them to the best service.
This means that adults and children aged 6+ years who are experiencing emotional distress and mental ill-health can receive help from IPC Health's Mental Health Service, along with their families and carers.
IPC Health's Mental Health Service supports people living in the areas of Brimbank, Hobsons Bay, Melton and Wyndham.
To succeed you will need
- Current registration or professional membership for Psychology (including Provisional Psychologist under supervision), Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Mental Health Nurse. (Note counsellors are not able to be considered for this role due to program credentialing requirements).
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience delivering therapeutic mental health support to a range of diverse communities using evidence-based interventions.
- Demonstrated ability to work with people who a range of presentations, background and needs, including using experience in working with interpreters.
- Demonstrated experience in delivering therapeutic care across a continuum of mental health acuity, including managing risk, and delivering holistic and trauma informed care
- Exemplary skills in the management of episodes of care within program guidelines, from clinical assessment, planning and implementation to discharge
- A current Victorian driver’s licence and valid Working with Children’s Check.
