The Role
Within your role as a Survey Technician, you will be responsible for supporting the Power Generation industry conduct scheduled maintenance outage works. You will provide assistance to our team of qualified NDT Technicians and Engineers to test and investigate various items of plant and equipment to ensure reliability and integrity. Forming part of a skilled and high performing team, you will have the support of a progressive and experienced management team and be exposed to a variety of interesting and challenging work environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting NDT Technicians and Inspectors to conduct required inspections and testing of plant and machinery

Job Summary:
The Land Surveyor will play a critical role in the successful development and execution of solar energy projects. This position is responsible for conducting precise land surveys, data collection, and mapping activities essential for site selection, design, construction, and operation of solar farms. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in land surveying principles, extensive experience with modern surveying equipment and software, and a keen understanding of the unique challenges and requirements associated with large-scale renewable energy projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pre-Construction Surveys:
- Conduct topographical surveys to map existing terrain, elevation changes, and natural features.
- Perform boundary surveys to determine property lines, easements, and rights-of-way.
- Identify and locate existing utilities (underground and overhead) to prevent conflicts during construction.
- Prepare detailed survey reports, maps, and drawings using CAD and GIS software.
- Assist in site selection by providing accurate and timely survey data to the development team.
- Construction Support:
- Lay out project components, including solar panel arrays, inverters, substations, access roads, and fencing, according to engineering designs.
- Establish and maintain horizontal and vertical control networks for construction staking.
- Perform grade checks and ensure proper earthwork execution.
- Conduct as-built surveys to document the final constructed state of the solar farm.
- Provide on-site support and troubleshoot surveying-related issues during construction.
- Data Management & Technology:
- Operate and maintain a variety of surveying equipment, including Total Stations, GPS/GNSS receivers, LiDAR scanners, and drones for aerial surveys.
- Proficiently use surveying software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, Topcon Magnet, GIS platforms like ArcGIS) for data processing, analysis, and map creation.
- Manage and organize survey data, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and accessibility.
- Stay updated with the latest surveying technologies, methodologies, and industry best practices.
- Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure all surveying activities comply with local, state, and national regulations, as well as company safety standards.
- Adhere to professional surveying standards and ethical guidelines.
- Identify potential hazards and implement appropriate safety measures during field operations.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Work closely with project managers, civil engineers, electrical engineers, environmental specialists, and construction teams.
- Communicate survey findings clearly and concisely to various stakeholders.
- Prepare and present survey data and reports to internal teams and external partners.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Geomatics, Land Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- (Optional, but highly recommended): Licensed Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) in (Specify relevant state(s)/region(s) if applicable, e.g., Haryana, or states where projects are typically located).
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in land surveying, with a significant portion dedicated to large-scale infrastructure or renewable energy projects (solar preferred).
- Proven experience with topographical, boundary, and construction surveys.
- Technical Skills:
- Expert proficiency in operating and troubleshooting modern surveying equipment (Total Stations, GPS/GNSS, levels, drones).
- Advanced proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD Civil 3D highly preferred) for drawing and design.
- Experience with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS) for spatial analysis and mapping.
- Familiarity with relevant surveying software for data processing and analysis.
- Understanding of coordinate systems, projections, and geodetic principles.
