**Job Description**:
We are looking for an experienced MySQL database administrator who will be responsible for ensuring the performance, availability, and security of clusters of MySQL instances. You will also be responsible for orchestrating upgrades, backups, and provisioning of database instances. You will also work in tandem with the other teams, preparing documentations and specifications as required.

**Responsibilities**:
Provision MySQL instances, both in clustered and non-clustered configurations
Ensure performance, security, and availability of databases
Prepare documentations and specifications
Handle common database procedures, such as upgrade, backup, recovery, migration, etc.
Profile server resource usage, optimize and tweak as necessary
Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per year

Objective:

As a CORE PHP/MySQL Developer, you will be responsible for writing back-end components, connect the application with other web services/systems and support the front-end developers by integrating their work with the application.

As a CORE PHP/MySQL Developer at Rage, you’ll get to:

Work on any PHP Frameworks/Platforms (CMS/ECommerce).

Build innovative, state-of-the-art applications and collaborate with the User Experience team.

Participate the entire web application development life cycle right from concept stage to deliver and post launch support.

Troubleshoot, test and maintain the core application software and dependent components to ensure strong optimisation and functionality.

Follow industry best practices

Keep abreast of new trends and best practices in web development.

Ideally, you should have:

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with 3-5 years of hands on experience in CORE PHP/MySQL

Strong knowledge on CORE PHP functions, Classes, Namespaces, Features, OOPS, Dependency Package Management, PHP-cli

Hands on experience with MySQL/Mariadb SQL Queries, features and functions.

Solid understanding of WEB, RDBMS concepts, API and Application Security.

Understanding of design patterns (MVC, singleton, factory etc)

Must have knowledge of JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap.

Familiarity with Linux, Nginx, GIT

Knowledge on any MVC Frameworks like Code Igniter/Laravel is value added and skills on CORE PHP is must

Key Responsibilities:
+ Design, install, configure, and maintain Oracle and SQL Server databases in production and development environments.
+ Perform advanced performance tuning, query optimization, and capacity planning.
+ Manage high availability and disaster recovery solutions (Oracle RAC, Data Guard, SQL Server Always On, Log Shipping, etc.).
+ Implement and maintain backup and recovery strategies using RMAN, Data Pump, and SQL Server native tools.
+ Monitor database health and proactively resolve issues to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
+ Automate routine tasks using PL/SQL, T-SQL, PowerShell, and shell scripting.
+ Collaborate with application developers, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders.
+ Lead database migrations, upgrades, and patching activities.
+ Ensure compliance with security policies, data governance, and audit requirements.
+ Mentor junior DBAs and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team.

Required Technical and Professional Experience
+ 7 + years of experience in database administration with strong hands-on expertise in both Oracle (12c/19c/21c) and SQL Server (2016/2019/2022).
+ Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL, and database performance tuning techniques.
+ Experience with Oracle RAC, ASM, Data Guard, and SQL Server Always On Availability Groups.
+ Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux and Windows Server environments.
+ Familiarity with database monitoring tools (OEM, SQL Server Profiler, Extended Events, etc.)
+ Expertise in data mining, data storage and Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) processes
+ Experience in data pipelines development and tooling, e.g., Glue, Databricks, Synapse, or Dataproc
+ Experience with both relational and NoSQL databases, PostgreSQL, DB2, MongoDB
+ Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills
+ Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, while maintaining a high level of attention to detail
+ Communication Skills: Must be able to communicate with both technical and non-technical colleagues, to derive technical requirements from business needs and problems
+ Experience with cloud platforms (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Azure, AWS RDS).
+ Exposure to DevOps practices and automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins).
+ Knowledge of other database technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) is a plus.
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
+ Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
+ Experience working as a Data Engineer and/or in cloud modernization
+ Experience in Data Modelling, to create conceptual model of how data is connected and how it will be used in business processes
+ Professional certification, e.g., Open Certified Technical Specialist with Data Engineering Specialization
