You will be part of our Finance team, adding your expertise + operational skills to the delivery of Customer + Operational Excellence.
Your primary objective will be to oversee +/or execute the entire payroll function for the specified location(s), including the management of our time + attendance systems, ensuring ongoing streamlining + continuous improvement of systems + processes. You will act as the superuser of the relevant payroll system including the coordination of system-related issues with the provider + IT team. You will do this by working with a variety of internal + external stakeholders.
**How you create impact**
+ To ensure that the payroll activities +/or team meet all required internal + external key performance indicators + regulatory requirements on a consistent basis.
+ To identify + implement improvements to ensure the efficiency of payroll processes.
+ To complete timely + accurate processing of annual salary increments, overtime, variable bonus payments + leave schemes, as well as other ad hoc approved changes.
+ To lead year-end tax adjustment exercises, including timely completion of all activities required to ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations.
+ To liaise with providers of social insurances such as pension schemes, medical insurance schemes in ensuring all required contributions are executed + recorded.
+ To ensure that all payroll related Internal Control Systems (ICS) requirements are met.
+ To provide regular + ad-hoc reports as per requirements, for both internal + external stakeholders.

+ Degree or diploma in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
+ Minimum 5 -10 years of progressive experience in payroll management, preferably at a national or multi-location level.
+ Proven experience managing end-to-end payroll processes for a large workforce.
+ Strong knowledge of national labor laws, tax regulations, social security, and statutory compliance requirements
+ Ability to drive process improvement, automation, and standardization of payroll functions.

A Chartered Accountant with tax experience would be preferred. The work profile would involve independent handling of all TDS/ WHT compliances and support in all other Direct Tax and Transfer Pricing matters. Commitment to timelines/ deadlines, up-to-date knowledge of latest tax laws and emphasis on ensuring 100% tax compliances is expected.
**How you create impact**
+ TDS and Withholding tax compliance on the payable front (monthly/ quarterly/ annual).
+ Regularly ensuring correct booking and reconciliation of TDS on payments made PAN India.
+ Application and receipt of lower TDS certificate of the company each year.
+ Supporting PAN India team and vendors on queries/ TDS return revision requests.
+ Support to direct tax profile on corporate tax, transfer pricing, audit front, other matters which will encompass a bundle of compliances, tax estimates and payments, assessments, litigations, data preparations, reconciliations, record maintenance etc.
+ Time-to-time other support to Direct Tax lead on various topics
**What we would like you to bring**
+ Have direct tax experience and knowledge.
+ Have 1 to 2 years income tax experience.
+ Candidate with current/previous big 4 consulting firm experience would be an advantage.
+ Good communication in English is ideal.
+ Have managed logistic or service industrial direct tax.
