Your key responsibilities

As a Consultant in our Cybersecurity practice you will be working within IT Risk and Security and will have exposure to cyber security assessments and work in teams to deliver security implementations or remediation programs.

Experience in information and cyber security is essential for this role. A Big 4 background or comparable consulting experience is helpful, although EY will provide ongoing training and support to develop your consulting skills. We therefore welcome applicants with industry experience and broad background across security and experience in 1 or more of the following areas would be beneficial:

Role Overview:

We’re hiring a Security Specialist to safeguard our trading infrastructure, data, and systems. The role involves proactive threat monitoring, incident response, security audits, and ensuring regulatory compliance in a fast-paced trading environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor & Respond to Threats: Continuously track security events across networks, systems, and applications. Investigate and respond to incidents swiftly to minimize risks.
• Infrastructure Security Management: Configure and manage firewalls, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and SIEM tools to maintain a secure environment.
• Vulnerability Management: Conduct regular vulnerability assessments, penetration tests, and risk analysis to identify and remediate potential weaknesses.
• Security Audits & Compliance: Perform periodic security audits and ensure adherence to SEBI, NSE/BSE, and exchange-specific cybersecurity regulations.
• Secure DevOps Practices: Work closely with DevOps and engineering teams to integrate security controls within CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure.
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed security incident reports, audit logs, and risk assessment records for internal review and regulatory submissions.
• User Awareness & Training: Conduct periodic security awareness sessions and phishing simulation exercises for internal teams.

Requirements:

• 3–6 years in information security (fintech/trading preferred).
• Strong knowledge of network, cloud (AWS/GCP), and system security.
• Familiarity with SEBI cybersecurity guidelines a plus.

Security Specialist Responsibilities

• Assess security concerns by analyzing security risks.
• Design and execute data recovery and safety procedures.
• Security software should be installed, configured, and updated (e.g. antivirus programs)
• Protecting networks through Firewalls, password protection and other such measures.
• Examine hardware for weak points of entry.
• Monitor network activity to discover and convey concerns to Security and IT staff as soon as possible.
• Take action in the face of data breaches and malware threats.
• When needed, act as a security expert and provide training.

Security Specialist Required Skills

• BSc/Btech in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field; professional certification (e.g. CompTIA Security+, CISSP) is a plus.
• It would be advantageous if you have prior experience as a Security Specialist.
• Programming abilities (e.g knowledge of the C++ and PHP languages) would be preferred.
• Security frameworks (e.g., the NIST Cybersecurity Framework) and risk management approaches should be familiar.
• Patch management, firewalls, and intrusion detection and prevention systems are all skills that are useful to have (e.g. TippingPoint).
• Knowledge of public key infrastructure (PKI) and cryptographic protocols (such as SSL/TLS) is required.
• An analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
