Position Summary :
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Maritime Engineer to oversee and manage engineering projects related to maritime operations. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in Indian Registration of Shipping (IRS) regulations, Tugboat chartering, and shipbuilding and maintenance processes. The role requires technical proficiency, regulatory knowledge, and operational insight to support maritime operations effectively.
Key Responsibilities :
Compliance & Regulatory Affairs:
Ensure vessels meet Indian Registration of Shipping (IRS) standards and other applicable maritime regulations.
Liaise with regulatory authorities to obtain certifications, licenses, and approvals for ships.
Monitor compliance with maritime laws, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
Oversee shipbuilding projects, including design, construction, and commissioning.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for various vessels.
Collaborate with shipyards, contractors, and vendors for timely project execution and cost control.
Manage and negotiate tugboat charter agreements, including operational and financial aspects.
Monitor tugboat performance and ensure adherence to contract terms.
Coordinate logistics for tugboat operations, including crew management and fuel supply.
Provide engineering support to enhance vessel performance and efficiency.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to marine machinery and systems.
Plan and execute projects within timelines and budget constraints.
Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations for stakeholders.
Safety & Risk Management:
Conduct risk assessments for maritime operations.
Develop and implement safety protocols and emergency response procedures.

- Good knowledge of all the relevant Eurocodes and British standards applicable to maritime structures
- Excellent computer/software skills (STAAD.Pro, AutoCAD, MS Office)
- Knowledge of construction techniques and buildability of maritime structures
- Knowledge of construction materials
- Good organizational and interpersonal skills
- Good written and verbal skills, ability to produce high quality reports
Desired Skills
- Member of/working towards a Professional body membership will be preferred
