Role:

The Navigation Integrated Systems Engineer (NAVISYS Engineer) is the go-to interlocutor of vessels, Fleet Superintendents, Partner contract holders (maker, vendors), and transversal departments (Technical Department, Procurement, SSE, Newbuilding, etc.) regarding the maintenance of the Navigation Integrated Systems. As such, the NAVISYS Engineer implements or monitor that the appropriate actions are taken to meet the technical and regulatory needs and work with the partners to ensure operational condition within the budget of the CMA Ships' Fleets.

Responsibilities and Duties:

As per company standards, you shall:

• Comply with IMS and all relevant international rules and regulations;

• Ensure all your duties in accordance with quality, health, safety, environmental and ethics policies; • Propose a continuous performance improvement plan which will be reported and reviewed on a periodical basis;

• Monitor or organize the plan surveys / health check / maintenance of navigation integrated systems and provide support to vessels and shore teams including risk assessment for new situation or for planned intervention;

• Manage with vessel Superintendents / Vessel managers the repairs within time and budget by sourcing best solutions with key partners;

• Support, Assist and monitor vessel compliance with flag and class requirement related to navigation integrated systems;

• Feedback and challenge repair proposal of partners or vendors to ensure operational availability; • Contribute actively for the issuance of experience feedback, lessons learned from vessel’s navigation integrated systems to improve reliability;

• Maintain up to date data base of radio and navigation system onboard, discuss with expert team optimal lifecycle of navigation integrated systems;

• Evaluate and assess regularly partners and key vendors with segment purchasers;

• Prepare the annual budget for assigned vessels in consultation with the Expert/Superintendents/Vessel managers;

• Attend vessels in ports when required (to be up to date with equipment’s, service).

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical or Electronics and Telecommunications.

Experience:

• 3 years’ experience in support of vessels is preferred.

Special Knowledge and Skills:

• Good knowledge of integrated radio and navigation systems, OT networking, cybersecurity controls

• Skills to provide best support to vessels and shore teams

• Troubleshooting, initiative, flair to solve issues and curiosity for new technologies

• Project management skills, competencies in various software programs, includes Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Power Query

• Fluent in English

• Excellent communication and analytical skills, ability to work both independently and in a team-based environment.

Role Overview

We are seeking an Embedded Systems Engineer to join our team in Bengaluru. The role involves developing and optimizing embedded firmware in C/C++ for micro controllers, integrating and interfacing precision sensors using I²C and SPI protocols, and implementing sensor data processing algorithms such as Kalman and complementary filters. You will work with tools like the Arduino IDE for rapid prototyping, debug systems using oscilloscopes and logic analyzers, and collaborate with hardware and software teams to ensure seamless integration. Clear and maintainable technical documentation will also be part of your responsibilities.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Aerospace Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Instrumentation Engineering.
  
  
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ programming for embedded systems and micro controllers.
  
  
• Hands-on experience with Arduino IDE, PlatformIO, or other micro controller development environments.
  
  
• Practical knowledge of embedded firmware development, including sensor integration and signal processing.
  
  
• Experience with sensor data processing and filtering algorithms such as Kalman filters, complementary filters, or low-pass filters.
  
  
• Skilled in using hardware debugging tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, multi meters, and serial debuggers.
  
  

Preferred / Bonus Skills

• Experience with Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) such as FreeRTOS or Zephyr RTOS.
  
  
• Familiarity with STM32 micro controllers and STM32CubeIDE development environment.
  
  
• Background in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), drones, robotics, or aerospace embedded systems.

• Designing, maintaining and supporting the network infrastructure.

• Working experience with Complex Embedded Systems, Mobile/IOT/Auto domains preferred.
• Experience in Linux kernel development, Device Driver, customization, file system, debug, User space space concepts.
• Hands on experience in Lab, Board/SW/FW bring-ups, image flashing methods , JTAG/Board/ADB level debugging.
• Involved in debugging the software issues and board boot up issues.
• Exposure to ADB shell, shell scripts, Python scripts, Understanding of Linux/android systems , automation scripts/environment.
• Exposure to Git, Jira, Android tools
• Exposure to ARM Trustzone Security, TZ, TEE(Trusted Execution Environments) and cryptography concepts.
• Good communication skills, presentation skills and should manage his/her tasks independently.
