Description:

The Senior Network Administrator is responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise and cloud network environments across a global footprint. This role requires deep expertise in routing, switching, SD-WAN, MPLS, firewalls, wireless, VoIP, and automation, combined with strong troubleshooting and ITIL-based incident management skills. The ideal candidate will bring experience from global enterprises, ensure network stability and scalability, and act as a mentor and subject matter expert within the team.


Responsibilities:

  • Support, Design & Architecture: Design, implement, and maintain enterprise-grade LAN/WAN, MPLS, SD-WAN, and cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP) ensuring scalability, resiliency, and security.
  • Configuration & Deployment: Configure, monitor, and optimize advanced routing and switching infrastructures including BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLANs, RSTP, and L2 security features (port security, DHCP snooping, dynamic ARP inspection).
  • Quality of Service: Define and manage QoS policies across multi-vendor platforms to ensure consistent application, collaboration, and real-time traffic performance.
  • Firewall & Security: Manage and secure global firewall environments with a focus on Palo Alto Networks technologies (Panorama, NGFW, GlobalProtect).
  • Enterprise Wireless: Support and optimize enterprise wireless networks (Cisco, Meraki), including RF planning, heat map analysis, channel/power tuning, and RF interference troubleshooting, ensuring proper coverage, density, and security.
  • Voice & Collaboration: Administer and troubleshoot VoIP and real-time communication services (SIP, WebRTC, SBCs, RTP), ensuring resiliency, QoS, and seamless end-user experience.
  • Traffic & Protocol Analysis: Perform packet capture and deep traffic analysis with tools such as Wireshark, NetFlow, and syslog to resolve complex protocol and application issues.
  • Automation: Automate network operations and provisioning tasks using Python, Ansible, or equivalent frameworks to improve efficiency and reduce human error.
  • M&A Integrations: Integrate and consolidate networks during mergers and acquisitions, supporting global business initiatives with minimal downtime.
  • Collaboration: Partner with global IT, security, and business teams to align infrastructure with enterprise strategy, cloud adoption, and compliance requirements.
  • Operational Excellence: Proactively monitor network health, identify risks, and implement corrective and preventive measures. Provide mentorship to junior team members, ensuring consistent standards and best practices.


Functional Competencies:

  • Technical Mastery: Expert knowledge in routing, switching, MPLS, SD-WAN, VLAN segmentation, RSTP, QoS, wireless RF design, and VoIP/WebRTC services.
  • Cloud Networking: Strong experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud networking services (VPC, Transit Gateway, peering, VPNs, direct connect/express route).
  • Security Acumen: Advanced understanding of firewalls, VPNs, L2 security controls, IDS/IPS, segmentation, and zero-trust principles.

Qualifications:

  • 4-5 years of hands-on experience in enterprise and global networking roles.

**The Role**
Network Services team at Kyndryl, you will be the go-to expert for providing top-of-the-line technical solutions throughout the entire solution lifecycle. You will be responsible for creating local and wide-area network solutions that utilize multiple platforms and protocols, ensuring that our customers have the best possible network infrastructure to support their business needs.
Your skills in routers, networking controllers, bridges, and networking software will be essential as you troubleshoot network issues and coordinate with vendors to install the latest hardware and software, such as routers and switches. Not only will you help keep our customer's networks running smoothly, but you will also work on project implementation, conduct project planning and cost analysis, and build proof-of-concept solutions with networking system technology.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to review project requirements, communicate them accurately to the team, and ensure they are appropriately fulfilled. You will use your expertise to design and implement local and wide-area network solutions, including IP and VOIP, that address customer requirements. You will also provide high-quality technical solutions to our customers to prepare them for implementation, go-live, and maintenance.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
-6+ years of experience focused on network support, configuration, and implementation
-6+ years of experience in core switching, routing, MPLS, and firewalls
-Networking and security architecture and engineering support experience across local, regional, and global domains
-Ability to effectively execute multiple IT projects and deadlines with limited supervision
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
-Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) deployment and data center experience
-Experience with design and implementing Software Defined Network (SDN) and large complex networks
-Experience with protocols and technologies such as, BDP, OSPF, MP-FBP EVPN, VXLAN, or VPC
