About the role 

Part time (0.7) fixed-term contract position, until 30 June 2027. This role services regional South Australia, location can be flexible across the state but would suit someone residing in the Limestone Coast or Far North Regions of SA due to the travel required within this area. 

The Clinical Nurse Consultant for the Nightingale Program will work as a sole practitioner and be responsible for the provision of nursing, dementia and palliative assessments, information, guidance, and support to enable people and their families to live well during the advancing and end stages of dementia.  

This autonomous role will incorporate providing dementia and nursing specific education for professionals, raising awareness for the general public and capacity building with service providers.

Reporting directly to the Team Leader – Clinical Nurse Consultant, you will be responsible for:  

  • Undertaking a high standard of nursing assessment utilising standardised nursing assessment tools appropriate to the clinical presentation 
  • Ensuring triage of referrals and timely allocation of program resources for appropriate referrals 
  • Providing detailed care planning following assessment, using a person centred and multidisciplinary team approach 
  • Providing information including psycho-educational and psycho-social interventions and resources about complex health symptoms associated with dementia, end stage dementia and end of life to people diagnosed with dementia, their families and carers.

About you 

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone with the following: 

  1. Tertiary qualification in Nursing is required; Post graduate studies in Palliative Care and / or Dementia Care will be highly regarded 
  2. Registered Nurse with 5+ years postgraduate experience with current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) 
  3. Understanding of dementia and ability to provide comprehensive nursing assessment and consultation for people with dementia, their families and carers 
  4. Demonstrated knowledge and experience of clinical presentations and complex comorbidities of people with dementia in late and palliative stages of dementia 
  5. Knowledge of end-of-life issues for people with dementia, their families and carers 
  6. Builds, fosters and sustains relationships (internally and externally) 
  7. Provides service excellence by delivering client focused services.

  • Overall Purpose of the Role

    Nursing

  • The Clinical Nurse Specialist will work with multidisciplinary teams in order to develop existing services or facilitate new services from which MOVAPO and other STADA products as required can be introduced as part of local PD health provision.
  • The Nurse Advisor will act as a source of information for patients they work with and provide general MOVAPO/ and other STADA products as required advice, which may be outside of normal working hours.
  • Contribute, where required, to patient clinics or hospital wards in order to assess patients and give clinical assistance to the multidisciplinary team.
  • Give advice and educational support to patients and their carers, according to STADA protocols.
  • Working within STADA protocols; facilitate an integrated team approach in supporting the patient throughout the initiation and maintenance of MOVAPO therapy or utilisation of other STADA products as required.
  • Provide appropriate support & education to the Healthcare Professionals (HCP) and patient following decision to undertake the use of MOVAPO and other STADA products as required.
  • Share evidence-based care in the use of MOVAPO/other STADA products as required whilst at all times working with internal and external staff in promoting a positive patient experience of MOVAPO therapy/other STADA products as required use.
  • Liaise with HCPs regarding the process of initiating therapy and subsequent patient discharge.
  • Facilitate and identify training needs of HCPs, for Parkinson’s disease and MOVAPO therapy or the use of other STADA products as required.
  • To provide in-services to HCPs on average once per week.
  • Work with HCPs, patients and carers to decrease the likelihood of hospital admissions for MOVAPO / PD associated problems
  • Liaise with the patient and carer in the community to reduce or avoid referrals for associated minor issues.
  • Initiation

  • Provide extensive training on MOVAPO therapy/other STADA products, providing information on health care issues such as skin care and pump maintenance.
  • Travel when required to provide support and leave coverage to other STADA Nurse Advisors in consideration to fair and appropriate workload within the team.
  • Host and present at events, conferences and/or in services in relation to Parkinson’s Disease, MOVAPO/other STADA products as required and Stada as required.
  • The nurse will work closely with the ANZ Nurse Manager to balance work commitments and responsibilities including time management, patient clinics & patient follow up to manage the needs of people undergoing MOVAPO therapy and other STADA products as required.
  • Reporting

  • Complete all necessary administration and programme documentation in a timely and accurate manner as required, particularly in relation to project documentation, activity reporting, information feedback and expenses.

  • To develop and maintain professional knowledge and skills as required by local industry associations.

    The Director will be accountable for recruiting, training, and leading a team of field-based Nurse Educators who work closely with healthcare professionals and collaborate with Sun Sales, Marketing, Market Access and Medical Affairs partners to enhance the customer experience and optimize patient care across key dermatology, oncology and infusion site

     In addition to UNLOXCYT, this role may also oversee educational support related to ODOMZO® (sonidegib) and LEVULAN® KERASTICK® + BLU-U®.

    Responsibilities :

  • Build and manage a team of high-performing, commercially focused Clinical Nurse Educators to support the launch and growth of UNLOXCYT and other dermatology assets.
  • Align field efforts with strategic brand objectives, territory goals, and educational campaigns.
  • Lead training, coaching, and development of CNEs to ensure delivery of impactful, compliant education to healthcare professionals.

    Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Registered Nurse to join the Education Team @ Kilmore District Health in the Clinical Support Nurse Role - 32 hours per fortnight until February 2026 to backfill leave cover.

    Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north.

    Services are provided through our five main campuses:

    Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital.  In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg.

    About the Role:

    The Clinical Support Nurse is an important member of the Education team, a role model of excellence in clinical practice and encouraging life-long learning. Supporting all level of learners and staff.

    A member of the Kilmore District Health (KDH) site Education team, this role will assist in anticipating and responding to the clinical developmental needs of the students and staff across the organisation. Clinically based, the position will liaise closely with the Clinical Education Coordinator, Nurse Unit Managers and other members of the Education team to assist and support staff and students in safe practice.  This role is a clinical leadership position that involves aspects of program delivery, performance review through formative and summative feedback, and completion of appropriate appraisal processes as deemed by the relevant NH requirements. This includes performing assessments for mandatory and clinical skill development as required across the health service.  

    This position is fixed term part time (32 hours per fortnight) until February 2026

    This position is responsible for: providing “bedside” support. This may include but is not limited to: 

    • Demonstrating a high level of clinical decision making with an emphasis on problem identification and solution as well as analysis and interpretation of data 
    • Maintaining and improving clinical standards while being a positive role model across the organisation  
    • Identifying immediate and ongoing learning and development needs of staff and students in consultation with NUMs, Clinical Nurse Educators and other members of the team 
    • Promoting evidence-based clinical practice, within existing policies and procedures, while supporting staff across the organisation 
    • Assisting and encouraging staff to achieve their mandatory training requirements. 
    • Encouraging and supporting clinical staff in their ability to provide appropriate support and guidance for entry level students, graduates and post-graduate nurses 
    • As directed and supported by the Clinical Education Coordinator, contributing to education/training programs and relevant assessments (such as formative and summative evaluation of program participants) 
    • Providing timely feedback to staff members, both in a formal and informal context 
    • Participating in performance management of relevant staff, as directed and supported by the Clinical Education Coordinator 

    To be successful in this role you will have:

    Essential:

    • Current AHPRA registration as registered nurse/midwife 
    • Current National Police and Working with Children History Check. 
    • Minimum 5 years recent practice in chosen area of nursing
    • Interest in Clinical Education and training  
    • Demonstrated positive role model in area of practice

     Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours:  

    • Post Gradaute Qualification or working towards
    • Current knowledge of acute/aged care nursing 
    • Experience in supervision and training 
    • Highly Effective communication skills 
    • Excellent team collaborative skills 
    • High level of enquiry
