Job Description – Technical Architect (.NET Core / Azure)

Responsibilities

• Define and own the
  technical architecture
  for backend services, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability.
• Provide
  solution designs
  and detailed technical guidance to development teams for complex business requirements.
• Ability to understand
  existing system design
  and capable of enhancing/modernizing with minimal impact to existing services.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, product owners, and business analysts to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Evaluate, recommend, and integrate appropriate
  tools, frameworks, and technologies
  into the architecture stack.
• Lead technical discussions, design reviews, and ensure adherence to
  best practices, coding standards, and security guidelines

  technical leadership and mentorship

Technical Requirements

• 12+ years
  of experience in software development, with at least
  5+ years in an architect/lead role
  .
• Strong expertise in
  .NET Core / C# backend services
  .
• Experience in
  microservices architecture
  , distributed systems, and event-driven designs.
• Hands-on experience with
  RabbitMQ (or other messaging platforms)
  for asynchronous communication.
• Strong knowledge of
  CouchDB (or similar NoSQL databases)
  , as well as relational databases.
• Expertise with
  Kubernetes
  and containerization (Docker).
• Experience with
  Azure Cloud services

• Azure Infrastructure-as-Code (ARM/Bicep/Terraform)

About your team

The Enterprise Network Services team are responsible for innovative network and firewall design solutions, supporting operations and delivering these services to the FIL business units. The ENS team have global responsibilities, delivering a regional support service through a virtual model, with staff located in our UK, European, India and Asia offices.

About your role

A Senior Technical Analyst/Technical Specialist within Network and Firewall Operations will be expected to have an excellent knowledge of Firewalls, Security appliances, DNS (dynamic), Load Balancing, Proxy Services, IPS technologies from best of breed vendors.  This knowledge should be underpinned with a fundamental network (Cisco) understanding.  This highly technical and customer facing position will involve Operational support, Network and Firewall Governance and project delivery from concept, scoping, design through to implementation.  The ability to work as a member of a diverse geographical based team is essential.

Part of ENS team, delivering a regional support function – identifying and driving tasks and initiatives to maintain stability deliver operational improvement. Incorporating service management, risk management, systems management (including monitoring) lifecycle management and reporting.  Responsible for supporting all areas of the Fidelity business -  including the Web (critical).  The ability to work well with incident managers and interact with service delivery managers and project managers is fundamental; also need to be able to work under pressure in a busy and reactive environment.

About you

• Degree holder in Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, or related disciplines.
