About the Role:
The Associate Nurse Unit Manager is a Registered Nurse who demonstrates expert knowledge and skills whilst assuming a prominent management focus within the wardunit. This role is responsible for delegation, coordination and supervision staff rostered for each shift on the basis of workload, prioritisation, and staff level of experience. The ANUM will demonstrate an understanding of the Scope of Practice of the Enrolled nurse when delegating and allocating nursing activities. The ANUM leads by example as a primary resource person, mentor and clinical leader to all nursing staff rotating within the unit, including New graduates, ENs and student nurses. The ANUM will ensure that access and flow run smoothly. In the absence of the NUM, the ANUM acts as the Nurse Unit Manager
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Current Registration as a Registered Nurse or Midwife, with AHPRA
- Demonstrated understanding of the principles of both Management and Leadership
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the principles of access management and effective patient flow
- Must possess excellent communication skills, written and verbal including sound conflict resolution skills • Must be able to demonstrate sound clinical assessments and analysis, and implement indicated treatments
- Must be able to work a rotating roster, including day, evening and night duty shifts

Exciting opportunities exist for an Associate Nurse Unit Manager, to join the Victorian Virtual Emergency Department (VVED) team at Northern Health. We have expanded our virtual model state-wide to service all of Victoria. This is an opportunity to be part of a supportive and dynamic team that is focused on partnering with the community and healthcare professionals to provide patients with access to healthcare outside of the emergency department.
The Victorian Virtual Emergency Department (VVED) is a 24-hour service providing video consultations to patients and Healthcare professionals in the community (i.e. Ambulance Victoria and GPs).
The VVED Associate Nurse Unit Manager will be responsible for:
- Coordination of the virtual nursing team in collaboration with medical and nursing practitioners and clerical admin, to ensure efficient, safe and timely virtual emergency care
- Managing shift flow and staffing deficits
- Identifying and reporting OH&S issues and clinical incidents
- Working autonomously and also within the multidisciplinary team
- Escalating to and supporting the Nurse Unit Manager and Senior Leadership Team
- Assisting and supporting the nursing team to virtually assess adult and paediatric patients to provide appropriate and timely healthcare advice and initiate appropriate pathways referrals
The Associate Nurse Unit Manager works as part of a virtual multidisciplinary team, including clerical, nursing, pharmacy, nurse practitioners and medical.
The service operates 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- A minimum of five years post registration experience as a Registered Nurse
- Experience working in an acute nursing environment such as Emergency, Intensive Care, Medical or Surgical
- Minimum 12-month previous ANUM/In-charge experience
- Adult and Paediatric nursing experience
- Demonstrated ability to conduct comprehensive A-E patient assessments for adult and paediatrics

The CDM has a strong foundation in clinical data management, combined with the agility to adapt as processes evolve towards the integration of clinical data science.
KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Define project specifications for Data Management services, including Protocol Conversion, Database Build, CRF Design and Data Review and Data Reconciliation tools.
• Understand external data collection, its integration into the clinical trial, and the management and reconciliation processes required to ensure its accuracy and relevance.
• Execute data cleaning strategies to accelerate the time to achieve subject data cleanliness and ensure high-quality, timely deliverables.
• Perform holistic data review and trending analysis via reporting and elluminate® analytics to proactively identify issue, risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Utilize artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) for anomaly and outlier detection to enhance the efficiency and quality of trial data.
• Monitor and interpret key performance indicators (KPIs), metrics, dashboards, Clinical Trial Operational Analytics (CTOA), and reports to provide actionable recommendations to study lead(s)/project manager.
• Perform Query Management
