Sanofi Business Services (SBS), one of the 4 pillars of Sanofi's Business Transformation organization, is setting up a captive Business Services center in Budapest to provide Finance & Accounting (Account-to-Report, Customer-Invoicing-to-Cash) as well as Employee oriented (Employee Experience) services. With respect to Account to Report (A2R) the Business Services center will be covering the following areas of the process:

The Closing & Reporting Accountant reports to A2R Closing & Reporting Lead and works closely with Finance (Controlling, Treasury, Tax, Internal Control), other SBS departments, Customer Service and the A2R team.

**Main responsibilities:**
+ **Operation:** Deliver GL monthly closing & reporting services to SBS. Review interfaces that generate automatic postings to ensure that they have been correctly booked, AR & AP sub-ledgers are closed and close Balance Sheet and P&L accounts. Request & collect all recurring and non-recurring items, reconcile accounts and post Manual Journal Entries (MJE). Prepare management, tax, legal and statutory reporting at Group and country levels. Prepare ad-hoc reports and analysis.
+ Contribute to business reviews. Execute in compliance of processes, transactions and reports with Sanofi accounting policies, internal control guidelines and audit / SOX requirements.
+ Complete all activities as per the global Core Model and operational KPIs. Develop expert level knowledge of the activities in scope as well as local knowledge of entities in scope and become a super-user.
+ Pro-actively anticipate operational issues and coach junior analysts. Build, document and transfer A2R Core Model process knowledge (Level 6/7) relating to GL monthly closure and reporting activities.
+ **Continuous improvement:** Identify process improvement opportunities through elimination of redundant activities. Participate in process automation initiatives and ensure seamless adoption and transition.
_About you_
+ **Experience** : Broad understanding of GL Accounting, monthly closure and reporting activities with ~5 years of professional experience. Understanding of IFRS and local GAAPs
+ **Functional:** Knowledge of IFRS and local GAAPs (essential). Hands on expertise in GL accounting, closing & reporting processes, and activities (essential). Knowledge of GL accounting and reporting (essential). Experience in working within a Business Services organization (advantageous). Good business acumen (advantageous). Strong problem solving, deductive and analytical skills (advantageous)
+ **Technical:** Hands-on experience of SAP FICO (essential) and other accounting related IT tools (e.g. Trintech Cadency) (advantageous). Knowledge of Microsoft Office and expertise of MS Excel (essential)
+ **Interpersonal:** Ability to interact with internal and external clients in a professional manner (essential). Team player, able to work collaboratively transversally and with A2R front line teams with an end-to-end mindset (essential). Good communication skills (advantageous). + **Working Hours:** Be responsible for the period-end closing and reporting in accordance with Sanofi month end close schedule. The associate may need to work in different working hours during the month-end closing period for 5-7 days, depending on the region they support.

To thrive in this role, you'll need previous experience in:

  • Proven track record in the financial services industry, preferably Sales finance / Trade Finance operations.
  • General experience of Pay/Receive operations and Funds transfers.
  • Ability to identify, analyse and manage operational risks
  • Good understanding of Compliance requirements, including Know Your Customer, Anti Money Laundering and Treating Customers Fairly
  • Knowledge of related risk and audits
  • Ability to work within deadlines/customer demand

This role is based out of Chennai.

Purpose of the role

To support Trade and Working Capital with day-to-day processing, reviewing, reporting, trading and issue resolution.

Accountabilities

  • Support with day-to-day Trade and Working Capital initiatives including processing, reviewing, reporting, trading and issue resolution through lending technical expertise.
  • Monitoring the banks Trade and Working Capital operations to ensure that they are conducted in an efficient and effective manner and comply with relevant regulatory and industry standards.
  • Collaboration with teams across the bank to align and integrate Trade and Working Capital processes.
  • Identification of areas for improvement and providing recommendations for change in Trade and Working Capital processes.
  • Development and implementation of Trade and Working Capital procedures and controls to mitigate risks and maintain operational efficiency.
  • Development of reports and presentations on Trade and Working Capital performance and communicate findings to internal senior stakeholders.
  • Identification of industry trends and developments to implement best practice in Trade and Working Capital Services.
  • Participation in projects and initiatives to improve Trade and Working Capital efficiency and effectiveness.
