**Context/Scope:**
**Diageo Global Business Operations is a multi-functional global shared services function established to liberate and equip markets to deliver the Diageo Performance Ambition. This is achieved through:**
**- The delivery of extraordinary end to end process execution**
**- Generating performance enhancing insights from data**
**- Providing CPG leading digital capabilities and solutions**
**All underpinned by secure and stable operations and putting customers and consumers at the heart of everything we do.**
**The Payroll Operations Team within the Employee Experience Tower gave to delivery of payroll for Diageo across Europe & Africa; constantly liaising with 3rd party Service Providers.**
**The team works within a principled pay cycle time frame, providing a consistently reliable and accurate service within a dynamic environment from both ongoing legislative and Policy changes.**
**Dimensions:**
**a) Financial -**
**The role will be responsible to ensure timely and accurate payments made to all Diageo Employees in scope**
**b) Market Complexity -**
**Collaborating closely with employees across the business and multiple countries**
**Partnering with outsourced payroll provider on all the above payrolls. Complexity - Answering tax queries, parental and other LOA questions, calculating advances, collating overtime and following monthly checklists and calendars to ensure all data processed accurately and within agreed timeframes. Completing in a compliant manner following our GBP Payroll controls.**
**High degree of technical knowledge is required on multi-country payrolls**
**c) Relationships -**
**Collaborating closely and establishing relationships with Diageo internal teams both upstream and downstream, specifically market HR, technical and finance functions, work towards simplifying the ways of working**
**Build and maintain excellent relationship with concerned payroll provider**
**Support and coach team members on the payroll technical queries**
**Purpose of Role**
**To provide a professional and high-quality payroll administration service which enables payments to our employees accurately and on time.**
**To be able to provide technical expertise to a higher degree on the local market nuances so that we can meet the obligations agreed**
**Individuals must work in a compliant manner and ensure all checklists, calendars, variance reporting, KPI's and journals are completed on time and accurately to ensure we meet our internal and external facing compliance controls.**
**Roles and Responsibilities**
**Validate the payrolls inputs (from business teams) and outputs (from the vendors) and administer accurate and timely payrolls for the countries assigned**
**Prepare a detailed variance analysis for quality analysis**
**Interaction and relationship management with the payroll service providers of the countries assigned**
**A quality attitude, eye for detail in delivering the payrolls in line with the compliance requirements and service at the heart of everything we do**
**Ensure all employee queries are answered in time, coordinating with vendors**
**Complete tasks in a compliant manner, ensuring adherence to Data Privacy and Compliance principles.**
**Handle payroll audit (internal & external) for the region**
**Be responsible for the payment setup for markets assigned**
**Provide root cause analysis on the issues identified and ensure that the team members are made aware of the issues**
**Collaborate with the wider GBO/Market teams to provide solutions to issues identified**
**Standardize, help document, challenge status quo and repeat the cycle**
**Familiar with Payroll year end activities**
**Ability to adapt to changes, if required by business**
**Should be flexible to accommodate time based on region supporting**
**Attention to minute details and good thought process**
**Responsible for payment setup for all vendors and reconciliations**
**Responsible for CARM control execution for the assigned markets**
**Be available for any data collation as part of the annual activities and audit support activities**
**Play a pivotal role in supporting finance team to close any finance reconciliation issues.**
**All queries from employees and other key customers are resolved satisfactorily within agreed timelines**
**Maintain technical knowledge of Statutory payments and deductions**
**Qualifications and Experience Required**
**3-5 years of Experience in Payroll Processing for a particular region**
**Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Business Administration or equivalent from an accredited university**
**Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across geographies and cultures**
**Ability to quickly understand and apply market legislation affecting payroll and statutory reporting.**
**MS Office expertise**
**Good at MS Office tools**
**Working knowledge on ServiceNow ticketing system**
**Ability to understand complex payroll environments and uncover issues, process problems**
**Comfortable talking with internal & external teams and building links**
**Ability to work in a fast paced, changing environment while still providing quality services**
**Strong ambitious personality, self-motivated and self-managing**
**Strong written and verbal communication, as wells as time management skills**

**Your role and responsibilities**
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced HR Outsourcing SME be part of our client's US Payroll and tax administration activities. The ideal candidate will 2-4 years of strong background in payroll and tax processes, with expertise in federal, FICA, state, and local taxes. They will support a lead a team of 15 associates responsible for ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timely delivery of payroll and tax services . This role will support a US client, shifts starting 0730pm onwards and work location is IBM's office in Manyata Tech Park, Bangalore.
Your primary responsibilities include:
· Help manager and team lead in Leading, manage, and mentor a team of payroll and tax professionals to deliver high-quality services to our client.
· Ensure all payroll and tax processes comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including federal, FICA, state, and local taxes.
· Oversee the accurate calculation and processing of payroll and taxes, including W-2 and W-2c corrections.
· Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, particularly the client's Tax Associate, to understand their needs and provide timely, accurate responses to tax-related inquiries and requests.
· Collaborate with internal teams, such as IT and Quality Assurance, to ensure smooth operations and address any issues that arise.
· Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations, and implement necessary adjustments to payroll and tax processes.
· Monitor team performance, provide constructive feedback, and support professional development opportunities.
· Participate in periodic reviews and audits to ensure ongoing compliance and process efficiency.

**Required technical and professional expertise**
1. Bachelor's degree in HR, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in payroll and tax administration, with at least 2 years of core US payroll experience
3. Demonstrated expertise in federal, FICA, state, and local taxes, with a strong understanding of tax calculation and compliance requirements.
4. Proven experience in updating federal and/or state tax setup based on employee W-4 forms.
5. Familiarity with local tax setups, particularly in Ohio, Kentucky, and Pennsylvania.
6. Experience with W-2 and W-2c processing, including taxable YTD calculations and equity pay shadow processing.
7. Strong knowledge of ADP Tax and Garnishment services and experience in reconciliations.
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and experience with payroll software systems.
**Preferred technical and professional experience**
· Proficient in MS Office applications.
· Excellent communication skills in English both oral and written.
