**How will you make a difference?**
The **_Payroll Tax Partner_** will be responsible for US Payroll Tax accuracy and maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. This role will support with the cross-functional relationship with Corporate Tax. Maintains a high standard of quality and accuracy by being proactive in on-time execution of Payroll Tax function. Provide excellent customer service and works closely within HR and other cross functional areas. The Payroll Tax Partner will assist with process and technology improvements that result in increased precision within Payroll Tax function.

+ University degree with 4+ years of relevant payroll and/or payroll tax experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
+ Minimum of 2+ years multi-state and local payroll tax experience.
+ Demonstrated proficiency with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
+ Experience with Workday highly preferred.
+ Experience with ADP Smart Compliance highly preferred.
+ Experience working in a manufacturing and union environment.
+ Must adapt to a dynamic, rapidly changing business environment.
+ Ability to multi-task and work within tight deadlines.
+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
+ Strong organizational and time management skills.
+ Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPS and Pivot Tables)

**What will your typical day look like?**
+ Executes the day-to-day payroll tax responsibilities are executed accurately and in a timely manner which include reconciling all daily tax and wage amounts submitted to ADP; balancing tax liability to cash disbursements, and reconciling gross wages, taxable wages, and tax amounts for multiple legal entities monthly, quarterly, and annually between Workday payroll and ADP.
+ Ensures the accuracy, timeliness and completeness of all tax filings, amendments and reporting including W-2s and W-2c's.
+ Partners with payroll processing team and ADP for accurate and timely set-up, calculation, reporting and payment of payroll taxes.
+ Manages HR Service Now tickets and emails for payroll tax issues ensuring timely resolution.
+ Completes reconciliations, corrections, root cause analysis, troubleshoot issues and problems.
+ Partners with internal and external stakeholders with impacts beyond Payroll Tax based on knowledge of Benefits, HR Systems, HR Analytics, Pay, Finance, and Internal Audit.
+ Provides support to Associate Payroll Tax Partners for errors, tax reconciliation, tax rate, new account setup, account closures, tax filing, and amendment issues.
+ Maintains strong internal controls related to payroll tax processes and compliance.
+ Looks for ways to improve processes and support department operational and transformation initiatives.
+ Assists with supporting the relationship with external consultants and ADP.
+ Provide various reports and data for internal and external audits as required.
+ Perform payroll processing duties as assigned.
+ Perform other related duties as assigned.

As part of the Payroll Services Tax Team, the Tax Analyst works within a team of professionals to ensure tax payments and filings are completed accurately and according to required deadlines. The Tax Analyst will assist with case management, responding promptly to client and partner inquiries and concerns, and driving effective resolution and client satisfaction.
Duties and Responsibilities May Include:
- Complete daily balancing and reconciliation of tax liabilities between payroll and tax systems.
- Generate daily payments for tax liabilities managed in Mastertax, ensuring timely submission to the bank and agencies.
- Conduct quarterly/annual balancing and reconciliation of tax liabilities to MasterTax liabilities and payments.
- File assigned quarterly and annual tax returns and electronic media, generated from MasterTax software, in accordance with agency-specific guidelines.
- Prepare and communicate quarterly tax variance and refund information to clients.
- Prepare and file appropriate client tax agency EFT registrations, Federal E-file registrations, and reporting agent authorizations.
- Research tax notices submitted by clients for assigned agencies and communicate effectively with clients to resolve issues.
- Assist with review of client tax amendment requests and generation of returns as needed.
- Ensure compliance and accuracy while maintaining up-to-date knowledge of tax issues related to Federal, State, and Local tax compliance.
- Manage Salesforce cases in a timely manner, addressing any concerns and maintaining effective communication with clients and partners.
- Assist with reconciliation and entry of new client balances against documentation and preparation of correspondence to assist new clients with transition.
- Research problems and out-of-balance situations. Interact with Payroll Services staff and other internal departments, as applicable, to answer questions and resolve issues.
- Support the Tax Compliance team with testing of new system releases and client communications
- Assist with analytical review of client tax variances and drive ongoing improvements with system development and client education
- Support the training of clients and Payroll Services team representatives with tax-related questions.
- Manage multiple competing priorities with tight deadlines in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
- Manage projects in an organized, proactive, and independent manner to meet all required time frames and commitments.
- Participate in initiatives to improve Payroll Services Tax processes and roll out innovative technology internally.

**Your role and responsibilities**
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced HR Outsourcing SME be part of our client's US Payroll and tax administration activities. The ideal candidate will 2-4 years of strong background in payroll and tax processes, with expertise in federal, FICA, state, and local taxes. They will support a lead a team of 15 associates responsible for ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timely delivery of payroll and tax services . This role will support a US client, shifts starting 0730pm onwards and work location is IBM's office in Manyata Tech Park, Bangalore.
Your primary responsibilities include:
· Help manager and team lead in Leading, manage, and mentor a team of payroll and tax professionals to deliver high-quality services to our client.
· Ensure all payroll and tax processes comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including federal, FICA, state, and local taxes.
· Oversee the accurate calculation and processing of payroll and taxes, including W-2 and W-2c corrections.
· Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, particularly the client's Tax Associate, to understand their needs and provide timely, accurate responses to tax-related inquiries and requests.
· Collaborate with internal teams, such as IT and Quality Assurance, to ensure smooth operations and address any issues that arise.
· Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations, and implement necessary adjustments to payroll and tax processes.
· Monitor team performance, provide constructive feedback, and support professional development opportunities.
· Participate in periodic reviews and audits to ensure ongoing compliance and process efficiency.
· Contribute to the development and refinement of standard operating procedures and best practices for payroll and tax administration.
· You will be required to have a good understanding of the internal and external policies, procedures, regulations, and compliance related to Human Resources and respond to employee queries.
**Required technical and professional expertise**
1. Bachelor's degree in HR, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in payroll and tax administration, with at least 2 years of core US payroll experience
3. Demonstrated expertise in federal, FICA, state, and local taxes, with a strong understanding of tax calculation and compliance requirements.
4. Proven experience in updating federal and/or state tax setup based on employee W-4 forms.
5. Familiarity with local tax setups, particularly in Ohio, Kentucky, and Pennsylvania.
6. Experience with W-2 and W-2c processing, including taxable YTD calculations and equity pay shadow processing.
7. Strong knowledge of ADP Tax and Garnishment services and experience in reconciliations.
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and experience with payroll software systems.
**Preferred technical and professional experience**
· Proficient in MS Office applications.
· Excellent communication skills in English both oral and written.
· Self-directed and ambitious achiever, meeting targets effectively.
· Demonstrated ability to analyse complex data, complemented by strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
