Job Overview:
Stress analysis of lines related to static and rotating equipment, air coolers, heaters, etc by using Caesar II software. Locate, design and modelling supports for various piping system and perform the required calculations. This position is open for Chennai location.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Stress analysis concepts and be able to solve critical stress and nozzle load Issues & strong piping support design concepts.
- Perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision and work effectively as a team member on all assignments.
- Familiar with the ASME, API and other industry related standards.
- Calculate and estimated piping loads on piping racks, structures, vessel´ s platforms.
- Create the stress analysis isometrics including all required data for support definition. Calculate and select variable and constant spring hanger.
- Knowledge of pipe support, including use of snubbers, rigid struds, spring sway braces.
- Prepare Requisition for Inquiry/ Purchase and Technical tabulation of piping support elements, such Prepare Piping stress analysis reports considering project specifications.
- Perform drawings by using 2D CAD software for non standard supports. Selection of clips on equipment's.
- Knowledge of material and piping codes / standards.
- Knowledge in pipe support detail drawings and layout drawings.
- Design experience in piping, pipe support and pipe layout.
- Coordinate with Civil/Structural, Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation groups to ensure design suits all these depts.
- Collaborate with Support / Piping Leads for optimal design.
- Experienced in Pipe Piping design as per ASME Standards.
- Experience in vendor drawing reviews and provide comments if any Knowledge on plot plans, nozzle orientation, platform drawings, structure details and GAD's.
Technical Skills:
- Professionals with Engineer degree in Piping Stress Engineer with minimum 8 Years of experience Required.
- Experience in the oil and gas industry in an engineering design company.
- Experience in Piping Stress Analysis ,CAESAR II,FE ANALYSIS,2D, 3D Drawings, SMART PLANT REVIEW Required.

Job Description:
The QA/QC Engineer – Mechanical/Piping will be responsible for ensuring quality standards and compliance across mechanical systems and piping installations in construction projects. This role involves overseeing the activities of General Contractors (GCs) and third-party QA/QC agencies, ensuring adherence to project specifications, codes, and industry standards. The engineer will conduct inspections, review documentation, and verify corrective/preventive actions to maintain the highest level of quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and ensure quality compliance of mechanical systems (e.g., HVAC, chillers, boilers, compressors) and piping works (e.g., process piping, utility piping, welding).
- Review and approve Inspection Test Plans (ITPs), method statements, and material approvals in accordance with project specifications and ISO standards.
- Conduct site inspections, audits and surveillance to ensure compliance with specifications, drawings, and standards.
- Monitor NCRs and SORs and ensure timely closure of issues.
- Ensure proper documentation of quality records – inspection reports, test results, NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports), method statements, and material approvals. Verify documentation and maintain quality records for compliance and handover.
- Regularly collaborate with design, GCs, and project management teams to resolve quality issues.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for quality issues.
- Review contractor and supplier submittals related to mechanical and piping systems.
Skills & Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline.
- 5+ years of QA/QC experience in large-scale industrial or semiconductor construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of ASME, API, and other mechanical/piping codes and standards.
- Working knowledge of industrial mechanical systems like HVAC, chillers, Scrubbers, compressors etc.
- Knowledge of piping materials (carbon steel, stainless steel, alloy steel, HDPE, PVC, etc.)
- Understanding of material specifications, traceability, and certification requirements.
