  • Specify and select process equipment such as reactors, distillation columns, heat exchangers, pumps, and compressors.
  • Conduct process simulations and modeling to optimize performance and identify potential issues.
  • Perform rigorous safety reviews, including HAZOP studies, to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Develop and implement process control strategies and instrumentation requirements.
  • Provide technical support during plant construction, commissioning, and startup phases.
  • Collaborate with R&D, project management, and other engineering disciplines.
  • Develop and maintain process design standards and best practices.
  • Mentor and guide junior process engineers, fostering technical development.
Qualifications:
  • Master's or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of progressive experience in chemical process design.
  • Extensive experience with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS, Pro/II).
  • In-depth knowledge of unit operations, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics.
  • Proven experience in conducting HAZOP studies and other process safety assessments.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., ASME, API).
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and deliver results on time and within budget.
  • Experience in overseeing engineering teams is highly desirable.
