Primary Purpose of Job:
Contribute to the ongoing growth of STANTEC ResourceNet Private India Ltd by providing technical expertise in the healthcare sector, as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering conceptual design, outline design, detailed design and construction support for healthcare projects across the STANTEC offices (NA, UK, Middle East, Asia Pacific etc.). To be involved in building and leading the healthcare plumbing engineering practice. This position will lead strategic projects, be client facing, responsible for team growth, staff development and business development, contribute to project delivery standards and work processes, provide quality control, workload forecasting, financial performance accountability and collaboration with other disciplines.
Support project managers from the region by providing technical support to ensure that project outcomes in terms of budget, schedule, technical and quality standards, meet both the client and STANTEC expectations.
Key Accountabilities:
- Work with PM's and SMEs on key projects to develop and deliver client drawings, specifications, presentations, reports, and other deliverables.
- Successfully manage projects of significant scope, complexity, and revenue budget.
- Apply buildings engineering and project management knowledge while leading cross-functional resources to meet project requirements within established timeframes and budgets.
- Meet technical, contractual, schedule, budgetary and client service objectives for projects.
- Apply strong engineering skills, experience and knowledge to the design and oversight of the design for building projects.
- Lead a team consisting of HVAC and Plumbing project managers, designers, and CAD/Revit production staff.
- Manage and plan the production resources and workflow to produce the design documentation, drawings, and calculations required for engineering projects.
- In conjunction with other stakeholders, identify and forecast staff needs and assignments based on current and projected workload and SME requirements.
- Hold project team members accountable for technical excellence, delivery standards, and best practices.
- Responsible for managing the financial performance, quality control processes, and project delivery for Mechanical Engineering projects.
- Act as a QC reviewer on Plumbing Engineering projects.
- Provide technical expertise in the area of all Plumbing systems as a part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering conceptual design, outline design, detailed design and construction support for projects across Stantec.
- Interface regularly with additional mechanical, electrical engineering and architectural leaders to thrive and contribute for integrated design practice
- Develop strategic and tactical business development and marketing plans for the healthcare plumbing engineering practice and align with Business Center and regional Buildings group goals and strategies and brand position priorities
- Assist with the development of the annual business plan and budget for the business center and working with the leadership team to achieve key performance indicators.
- Liaise closely with regional stakeholders (regional project leadership), and in some instances external clients; and local RNet (Pune) team members.
- Provide regular work status updates, including risks or concerns to Discipline Lead/Project Manager/Project Lead.
- Represent the firm through published articles, public speaking engagements and attendance at industry and community events, meetings, and conferences.
- Assist the marketing department with the development of mechanical engineering marketing materials and content.
- Maintain awareness of operational, technical, or regulatory changes within Plumbing Engineering, disseminate such knowledge to staff and firm, and integrate into existing processes and standards.
- Maintain and update Plumbing Engineering specifications, technical documentation, and standards in collaboration with other Sr. Plumbing technical resources in Stantec.
- Oversee Plumbing Engineering Design delivery process and best practices and coordinate with other disciplines.
- Provide oversight for Plumbing Engineering staff education and certification process & balance firm, studio and staff needs.
- Learning/Maintaining and Expanding Technical and Managerial Skills: - Maintain current knowledge of technologies and trends impacting Stantec's core service offerings and markets and continually strengthens skills.
- Train new and less experienced mechanical engineers and designers.
- Undertake other duties as may be assigned from time-to-time by management.
- Need to work off-hours for client co-ordination: Occasionally

Person Specifications:
- Bachelors Degree or Masters (M.E./M. Tech) in Mechanical Engineering from a reputed institute
- Should have minimum experience of 15+ years predominately in healthcare.

- Experience to identify and manage items of risk that may occur on projects.
- Ability to identify and manage potential unanticipated scope.

The candidate will be responsible for designing and managing engineering projects of different sizes and complexity throughout the life cycle of the project. Responsibilities also include coordinating with other disciplines such as architectural, structural & electrical. Designs will include calculations, analysis, specifications, and drawings normally required in the construction industry in the United States.

Responsibilities:

• Design HVAC/Plumbing system, detailed construction document drawing set for US Projects.
• Coordinate and collaborate real time with other disciplines such as architectural, structural, electrical, and process to develop designs.
• Design of central plants utilizing chillers, boilers & cooling tower, constant and variable flow pumping systems, constant and variable flow air handling units, temperature control & energy management systems, piping systems, ductwork systems, variable air volume terminal units, ground source heat pump systems, water chemical treatment systems, packaged chillers, packaged roof top A/C units, and split direct expansion A/C unit systems.
• Perform Internal plumbing system including domestic cold & hot water supply, soil, waste & venting, rainwater down takes & disposal systems based on rainfall intensity, basement drainage, subsoil drainage etc. Relevant design calculations as per standards & applicable code.
• Survey existing systems for documentation and condition assessment.
• Review project files for compliance with standards/protocols.
• Review Manufacturer’s Drawings for Conformance to Project Needs.
• Develop One Line, Protection One Line Diagrams and Construction Documents.
• Apply Applicable Local Codes and Standards to Project Designs.
• Able to meet tight deadlines and able to work as an individual contributor or in a team setting.
• Coordinate and monitor shop drawings submission schedule.
• Making sure quality standards and checklists are followed for every project.
