Key Responsibilities:
Policy Analysis
- Conduct desk reviews and analyze national and state-level policies, guidelines, and program documents related to nutrition and public health.
- Review and synthesize evidence from government reports and field data to assess policy design, implementation status, and alignment with national and global nutrition goals.
- Identify policy gaps, implementation bottlenecks, and systemic challenges, and propose recommendations to strengthen service delivery and inter-sectoral coordination.
Knowledge Translation
- Translate scientific evidence and technical findings into clear, actionable insights and messages tailored for policymakers, program managers, and field functionaries.
- Support the development of concept notes, policy briefs, training materials, and presentations to disseminate research evidence and good practices.
Research and Analysis
- Support in the development of research protocols, including study design, sampling strategy, and data collection tools.
- Conduct comprehensive literature reviews/searches across academic databases and grey literature.
- Synthesize evidence and findings to inform policy and programmatic decisions in nutrition.
Communication, Coordination and Stakeholder Engagement
- Coordinate and collate policy/scientific evidence, data inputs, and analytical outputs from internal team members and external research partners to ensure high-quality, timely deliverables.
- Support project reporting and coordination with institutional partners and research collaborators.
- Assist in organizing stakeholder consultations, policy roundtables, and webinars to promote health and nutrition initiatives.
- Facilitate convergence and peer networking with partners and institutions to strengthen collaboration and knowledge exchange.
Field Engagement and Policy Implementation Support
- Travel to states and Union Territories for policy research, stakeholder consultations, and program review activities.
- Conduct field visits to assess implementation of nutrition and public health programs, gather evidence, and document best practices and challenges.
- Prepare field reports and provide actionable recommendations to inform policy and program strengthening efforts.
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
- Master’s in Public Policy, Public Health or Nutrition Science
- Minimum 4-5 years of experience of working on and/or managing public health nutrition or related research projects
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills, project management skills and attention to details
- Excellent team-member and ability to work collaboratively, whilst also being able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Excellent time and person management skills, planning and organizing varied workload to meet tight deadlines
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in conducting policy research, including translating scientific evidence into actionable policy recommendations, preferably in the areas of public health or nutrition
- Familiarity with nutrition programs and government schemes (e.g., Poshan 2.0, ICDS) is highly desirable.
