Experience & Qualification Knowledge:
- Graduate Engineering (Mechanical) with 8-10 years of experience in maintenance department, preferably from gear industry.
- Organized person to ensure the preventive maintenance schedule.
- Strong technical competency.
- Computer literacy.
Job Purpose: Execute all activities relating to mechanical Preventive Maintenance to achieve Company objectives at the lowest possible cost and at the quality expectations established by company while maintaining a healthy, safe and clean work environment.
Roles & Responsibility
- Coordinate and perform routine & preventive maintenance activities on existing systems and equipment.
- Assist with troubleshooting problems on machinery, HVAC, ETP, Generator, Compressor, RO plant, DM/Softener plant and refrigeration.
- Equipment Scheduling for ensuring proper testing, calibration & preventive maintenance.
- Spares Part Management.
- Ensure all the repairs and preventive maintenance are completed according to the manufacturer’s specifications and guidelines.
- Improve up-time of equipment & reliability.
- Improve MTBF and reduce MTTR & % of breakdown.
- Handling of plant shutdown, major repair & PM task (daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly)
- Knowledge of POKA YOKE implementation & low-cost automation.
- Ability to lead cost saving initiatives in energy & maintenance spare parts.
- Analysis of plant breakdowns & addressing root causes.
- He shall possess an understanding of abnormality handling.
- Knowledge of TPM would be an added advantage.

Breakdown Management (40% time allocated)
Conduct regular plant rounds; Prepare guidelines and SOPs on actions to be taken in case of a breakdown; Prepare contingency plans for operations continuation in case of a breakdown; Review and analyze variance of plan vs actual performance of machines; Implement actions to reduce deviations in performance; Conduct root cause analysis of each breakdown; Periodically review action plans; Prepare and communicate performance reports on machine downtime, critical breakdowns and impact on production due to machine stoppage; in order to effectively manage equipment breakdowns and ensure minimal disruption to production processes.
Measurement Criteria:
Preventive Maintenance (40% time allocated)
Manage team of contract employees in day-to-day maintenance operations. Prepare preventive maintenance schedule for equipment in line with equipment age, usage and maintenance requirements; Ensure adherence of maintenance team to schedule; Review preventive maintenance schedule periodically and make changes; Identify common reasons and areas of breakdown and address the same through preventive maintenance; Identify equipment at risk for breakdown/damage and take actions accordingly; Conduct periodic checking and review of critical machine spares and ensure availability of spares as per requirements; in order to prepare an effective preventive maintenance strategy and reduce risk of operations stoppage. Identify required & critical spares. Initiate procurement of spares. Update data of maintenance function into CMMS software.
Measurement Criteria:
Documentation (20% time allocated)
Prepare SOP & HIRA, ISO documents of maintenance function. Communication with vendors, production team.
